Job Description

Day-to-day Operations

• Operate and monitor the plant equipment eitherr through local control panel or through SCADA/BMS/CMS operation. Equipment startup and shutdown as per the standard operating procedure.
• Log on operating parameters of the plant equipment at the scheduled intervals by taking appropriate readings through SCADA/BMS/CMS. Record all the equipment log sheets at the specified time intervals. Monitor all the ETS data through plant SCADA and record any abnormalities and communicate to plant supervisor for corrective action.
• Inform immediate supervisor about the abnormalities/malfunctions of the plant equipment found during their shift operation and ensure all the safety standards are followed. Authorized to stop the abnormal equipment and do the changeover of the equipment.
• Monitor the maintenance activities being executed in the plant and highlight maintenance requirements of the plant. Facilitating and supporting role to maintenance team if required.
• Carry appropriate tests pertaining to water temperature (Supply and return), water analysis to check chemical levels using portable meter record the same and inform supervisor accordingly for necessary action.
• Ensure that the heat load levels are properly distributed by monitoring the same regularly to ensure optimum utilization of plant capacities and optimization of energy consumption.
• Responsible for cleaning of the cooling tower water basins and louvers, pump suction strainers, AHU/BCU/FCU filters as well as chilled water network strainers in ETS room as per the schedule prepared by line supervisors. Follow the safety standards and perform routine housekeeping activities and maintain the plant tidiness.
• Identify and report the potential hazards by strictly following the safety guidelines. Refilling of chemicals into the chemicals' drums following safety precautions as per chemical MSDS.
• Inspect and identify the chilled water leakage in the network.
• Guide junior operators to operate the plant and give hands on training to them for safe plant operations, safe handing over of the plant to next shift operator and explaining the plant conditions and equipment abnormalities if any.
• Record daily plant utilities consumption and day consumptions and doing final calculations for preparing daily report. Read all the plant activities during his previous shift and act accordingly. Record all plant activities during his shift in the logbook.

• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies, and quality standards.

6. Context, Work environment & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

• The job holder does not exercise any major responsibility and should refer to Plant Supervisor for approval on any significant decision before implementation.

7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or Industrial Trade Certificate in Air Conditioning / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation,

Minimum Experience:

• 3 years of relevant experience in refrigeration / chiller plant activities from GCC countries
