JOB OVERVIEW:
A QAQC Inspector for MEP is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations and works are carried out according to the specified quality standards. The role involves inspecting various MEP systems and components, and ensuring compliance with local and international codes, standards, and project specifications. The QAQC Inspector - MEP will work closely with the project team to ensure that quality objectives are met and that any non-conformances are identified, reported, and resolved in a timely manner.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of MEP installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Verify that all MEP works are under relevant codes and standards.
Review and approve material submittals and ensure the use of approved materials in the project.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain QAQC documentation related to MEP works, including inspection checklists, test reports, and non-conformance reports. Document and track quality assurance metrics such as defect counts, rework levels, and inspection findings.
Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with MEP engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to discuss and resolve quality issues. Attend project meetings to provide updates on quality-related matters and to ensure quality objectives are understood and achieved.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements to MEP installation processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Stay updated with current industry practices, tools, and standards related to MEP quality control.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all MEP works are conducted in a safe manner and compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of quality-related training programs for site personnel.
EDUCATION BACKGROUND & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience of at least 5 years as a QA/QC Inspector in related Quality Control and Material testing activities along with 2 years of regional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant inspection and testing techniques.
- Proficient in using quality assurance tools and software.
The QAQC Inspector - MEP will typically work on construction sites and may be required to work in a variety of weather conditions. The role may involve standing for long periods and may require wearing personal protective equipment.
