We're Hiring:
Director, Engineering (Telecom) | Doha, Qatar

An exciting opportunity to lead the Engineering function of a national telecom organization in Qatar. The Director, Engineering will be responsible for the strategic development and evolution of the company's terrestrial, submarine, and IP/SDN transmission networks—ensuring world-class quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and implementation of the end-to-end network strategy covering terrestrial and international transmission networks.
  • Oversee the engineering of IP, SD-WAN, and Software-Defined Network (SDN) solutions aligned with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with cybersecurity and quality standards.
  • Evaluate emerging telecom technologies, vendors, and solutions to enhance network capability and resilience.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical, Business Development, Product, and Operations teams to support strategic initiatives and customer growth.
  • Manage the performance and development of Network Engineering and Marine Engineering teams.
  • Oversee CAPEX/OPEX budgets to ensure efficient use of company resources.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in telecom network engineering, with proven expertise in:
  • Transmission Network Design (terrestrial & submarine)
  • IP Network Design and Implementation
  • SD-WAN and Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency across teams.
