QA/QC Engineer – Valve Servicing Workshop

Position Overview:

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all valve servicing, testing, and certification activities are executed in accordance with international standards (API 598, API 6D, ASME, ISO) and specific client requirements (QatarEnergy, Qatar energy LNG, NOC Shell, QChem, etc.). The role demands strong technical expertise in valve testing, documentation, and coordination with clients, third-party inspectors, and factory QA teams to ensure compliance, traceability, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Control

• Develop, implement, and maintain the
  Quality Management System (QMS)
  as per
  ISO 9001
  standards.
• Prepare, review, and update all QA/QC documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Procedures, and Test Reports.
• Supervise and monitor the
  inspection and testing of all valve types
  (Ball, Gate, Globe, Check, Plug, DBB, Butterfly, Control Valves, etc.).
• Ensure
  hydrostatic, pneumatic, and functional tests
  are carried out in accordance with
  API 598, API 6D
  , and client specifications.

Testing & Inspection

• Oversee all valve testing activities, ensuring the use of properly calibrated instruments and adherence to safety protocols.
• Coordinate with
  Third-Party Inspectors (TPI)
  and clients for witnessing tests, ensuring smooth inspection schedules.
• Review and verify test records, calibration certificates, and inspection results prior to release.
• Ensure all relevant test reports, calibration certificates, and final dossiers are properly compiled, reviewed, and signed by the
  TPI and QA/QC Engineer
  .
• Maintain control over non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive measures.

Client, Factory & Coordination Activities

• Liaise directly with
  clients, third-party inspection agencies
  , and
  factory QA departments
  to ensure seamless communication and timely execution of testing and documentation.
• Coordinate with the
  factory QA/QC team
  for obtaining necessary material certificates, calibration reports, and test records.
• Attend client meetings and inspection hold points; represent the workshop during audits or quality reviews.
• Ensure proper communication and documentation flow between
  client, factory, and TPI
  teams during servicing and testing activities.

Documentation & Certification

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive quality records, including:
• Valve Test Reports (Hydrostatic, Pneumatic, FET& FAT)
• Material & Calibration Certificates
• Quality & Safety Procedures
• Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Reports
• ISO & QMS Manuals
• Arrange all necessary
  test reports and certificates
  for client submission.
• Ensure proper
  sign-off from the TPI and authorized QA/QC personnel
  on all relevant documentation.
• Maintain systematic filing, control, and traceability of all quality documentation.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Enforce strict compliance with
  HSE policies
  during all workshop testing and servicing activities.
• Ensure all testing operations (especially high-pressure hydro tests) are performed safely with proper risk assessments and permits.
• Promote continuous improvement in safety and quality awareness within the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 7–10 years of QA/QC experience
  in
  valve manufacturing or valve servicing workshops
  .
• Strong working knowledge of
  API 598, API 6D, ASME, ISO 9001
  & Qatar end users specifications.
• Must have
  hands-on experience with hydro and pneumatic test benches
  , emission testing, and valve inspection tools.
• Proven experience in
  client coordination
  ,
  TPI interactions
  , and
  factory QA/QC documentation
  .
• Familiarity with
  Qatar-based industrial clients
  (QatarEnergy, Qatar energy LNG, NOC Shell, QChem, etc.) preferred.
• Excellent technical reporting, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Deep understanding of valve design, testing, and servicing principles.
• Experience in ISO/QMS documentation, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to lead inspections and coordinate with multiple stakeholders under tight schedules.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, QA documentation software, and digital record management.
