*About The Role:*
Responsible for technical development of all the next generation Cabin/Systems/Avionics/lFE/Connectivity equipment specifications and assist in equipment selection for new aircraft definition. Provide engineering support and development activities for Major Cabin reconfiguration changes on Qatar Airways aircraft fleet.

*Accountabilities Include, But Not Limited To:*

• Act as a lead specialist to provide recommendations on technical matters and resolve complex technical issues on cabin/systems/Avionics/lFE/Connectivity related products.
• Check for the technical accuracy of the data in Product Specification Document (PSD), under the guidelines provided by the Project Manager. Identify and include all design, technical and regulatory aspects and all applicable company requirements accordingly.
• Evaluate all technical proposals received against RFPs, RFTs or RFQs and prepare detailed evaluation reports accordingly.
• Participate in commercial evaluation of all commercial proposals and negotiations with vendors for obtaining benefits for the company in coordination with Group Procurement as and when required. Assist all internal stake holders to negotiate and secure the best technical and commercial solution to meet company requirements by gathering details of same / similar product on existing fleet configuration, pricing at the time of induction and in-service performance.
• Evaluate aircraft definition specifications options such as SFE or STANDARD SELECTION OPTIONS or Master Change (MC) or Specification Change Notice (SCN) or Change Request (CR). Provide inputs to Project Manager on technical and commercial feasibility and initiate SCSA for timely processing.
• Ensure that Equipment selected on Qatar Airways new aircraft fleet is in compliance of all technical, legal requirements, airworthiness issues and is a cost effective solution. Ensure that all future regulatory mandates are complied with and covered in the new aircraft definition.
• Review the initial RSPL related to aircraft and provide recommendations to ensure adequate spares are available at entry into service and with an increase in fleet size.
• Check for accuracy of LORA, Emergency Equipment Drawing, mechanical and electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematic, Engineering data and other relevant documents to ensure all options and Part Numbers selected by Qatar Airways through standard options/MC/SCN/MSCN/CR are appropriately reflected in drawings and highlight all discrepancy to internal / external stakeholders for timely correction.
• Seek Aircraft Programs management approval before approaching respective OEM for changes in baseline airplane/equipment/system configuration. Communicate with relevant aircraft manufacturer, OEM, internal / external stakeholders for gathering all data required for error free technical recommendations while processing SCSA.
• Prepare all aircraft induction documents and applications, as advised by Project Manager, that are related to Qatar Airways aircraft fleet and include application for Radio License for the new line fit aircraft, application for Satcom service availability through — OOREDOO / INMARSAT ISITA or any equal service provider, Emergency locator Transmitter (ELT) Encoding data sheet for ELTs to be installed on new line fit aircraft well in advance and ensure the ELT Registrations with regulatory authority or any approved source.
• Engage with Product Development and Design (PDD), Corporate Planning, Cabin Services, Marketing and corporate communications department, cargo department and other internal stakeholders for seats, galleys, lavatories, seats, trim and finish, emergency equipment, soft furnishing, IFE, Connectivity and airplane systems selection and definition process.

Qualifications
About you:

• Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level / Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Aeronautical or equivalent discipline, or ICAO Type Il License Bl 182.
• Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
• Good knowledge of applicable new aircraft and BFE Product technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Good knowledge of OEM aircraft interface specifications for cabin and BFE products including aircraft system and equipment.
• Familiar with QCAA, EASA, FAA & ICAO regulations
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in MS Tools
• Project Management skills as an advantage
