Position Overview

Al‑Futtaim Automotive is looking for a skilled Technician - Trucks and Buses to join its commercial vehicle aftersales and workshop operations in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, service and repair heavy commercial vehicles, ensuring that trucks and buses meet the required standards of safety, reliability and technical performance. Your responsibilities will cover preventive maintenance, diesel engine repairs, electrical and electronic diagnostics, and troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. You will also carry out vehicle inspections, verify completed repairs and maintain accurate workshop documentation. Working alongside workshop supervisors, service advisors, parts personnel and fellow technicians, you will contribute to efficient workshop operations and dependable customer service. The ideal candidate will have practical experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, strong fault‑finding abilities and a commitment to quality workmanship and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and Servicing

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial trucks and buses.
• Perform general vehicle servicing and repair activities.
• Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and operational problems.
• Assess vehicle systems and components for faults requiring attention.
• Complete assigned maintenance tasks according to manufacturer requirements.
• Support the safe and reliable operation of commercial vehicles.

Mechanical Repairs and Diesel Engine Systems

• Diagnose and repair faults affecting diesel engines.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs on transmission systems.
• Inspect and repair commercial vehicle braking systems.
• Perform repairs involving steering and suspension components.
• Identify and resolve mechanical problems affecting vehicle performance.
• Service relevant vehicle components using appropriate workshop tools.
• Follow manufacturer technical instructions during repair activities.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout mechanical repairs.

Electrical and Electronic Diagnostics

• Diagnose faults affecting commercial vehicle electrical systems.
• Investigate electrical system malfunctions using suitable diagnostic equipment.

• Use technical manuals and repair instructions to identify appropriate repair procedures.
• Carry out electrical and electronic repairs within the scope of assigned work.

Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems

• Inspect commercial vehicle hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
