Qatar Industry: Agriculture Employment Type: Full-Time Company Type: Semi-Government Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Vehicle Mechanic with hands-on expertise in petrol and diesel engines, agricultural tractors, and related machinery. The ideal candidate must also possess at least 70% proficiency in vehicle electrical systems. The mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of agricultural vehicles and equipment used in farm operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Inspect, diagnose, and repair petrol and diesel engines in vehicles and farm machinery (tractors, pickups, utility vehicles). · Carry out routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and overhauls for optimum performance. · Perform repairs and maintenance on agricultural tractors including hydraulics, transmissions, and mechanical components. · Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including lighting, ignition, wiring, alternators, starters, and control modules. · Read and interpret repair manuals, diagrams, and technical data. · Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records. · Ensure safety protocols and quality standards are adhered to during all repair works. · Coordinate with the maintenance supervisor to report on vehicle status and required parts. · Occasionally support field operations to attend emergency breakdowns. · Keep tools, equipment, and the work area clean and organized.
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a general vehicle mechanic with hands-on expertise in both petrol and diesel engines. · Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in agriculture, logistics, or government/semi-government fleet operations. · Strong experience with tractor repair and servicing. · At least 70% proficiency in auto electrical systems. · Familiar with tools and diagnostic equipment relevant to vehicle and machinery maintenance. · Ability to work independently and handle multiple mechanical systems. · Technical diploma or equivalent certification in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering preferred. · Valid driving license is an advantage. · Ability to read and understand English; Arabic is a plus.
