Responsibilities:

The Jr Sous Chef holds a junior management position within the kitchen department, reporting to the Restaurant Chef and Executive Sous Chef, and is responsible for supervising the day-to-day running of the restaurant kitchen in the Hotel.

The management of food costs and production control are important to reduce wastage in addition to the culinary training that the Jr Sous Chef provides for all kitchen employees on a daily basis.

We are looking for individuals who have a solid knowledge of food and are passionate about developing their leadership skills within the hotel industry, have creativity and flair and the ability to provide guidance to others, and can evidence good business acumen and a strong work ethic.

The Jr Sous Chef is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the work of employees in the Kitchen Department responsible for food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency.

Applicants are required to have four to six years of operational kitchen experience with a diversity of culinary experience and a proven track record in fine dining & a high-end International cuisine restaurant.

Management experience is required and culinary qualifications are essential.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or culinary arts, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Two to three years previous experience in a culinary/food & beverage line position, or one to two years in a supervisory or assistant manager position.
  • Requires a working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job.
  • Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
  • Requires the ability to operate and utilize culinary production equipment and tools.
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
