Do what you love, care for the world, dare tochallenge the status quo #BELIMITLESS Job Description The NightManager is primarily responsible for supervising all theReceptionists while they are on shift, ensuring all tasks arecompleted on a daily basis and that the shift runs smoothly, beingthe main point of communication for Reception and all otheroperating departments, such as Housekeeping andEngineering.
Uniform/Guest Services, Florist, Housekeeping, In Room Dining)Bepresent at the Reception/Front Desk whenever possibleDeal promptlyand effectively with any complaintsMeet and greet VIPguestsCo-ordinate arrivals and departures, monitoring waitingtimes, always keeping guests informed and ensuring that they are ascomfortable as possibleConduct a handover at the end of each shiftwith relieving staff, informing them of any special requirements orproblemsLiaise with Housekeeping as to which rooms do not need tobe turned down if occupancy allowsLiaise with Concierge to ensureswift baggage dispatch and collectionFollow up on latecancellations and no shows and charge when appropriateInform thereceptionist/cashiers of new memos during the handoverCheck thenext days arrivals correspondence, confirming car-, restaurant- andtheatre-bookings.
Ensure that all guest needs are dealt withsatisfactoryCoordinate with Rooms Coordinator on all roomallocations, ensuring effective communication of these withReceptionists/Guest Service AgentsDeal with room moves, and ensureseamless communication of these with the relevant departmentsCheckpotential room revenue for any discrepancies and do necessarycorrectionsBalance the screen (room types) for next dayMaintainamicable and co-operative working relations with all otherdepartmentsTo be responsible for identifying any training needs ofReception/Front Office staff and communicating these to the FrontOffice Training ManagerEnsure enough supplies of all stationaryitems are in storageAssist the Director of Front Office andAssistant Director of Front Office in all aspects of the departmentand ensure service standards are followedManage any emergencies onthe desk and take necessary actionsFollow up all audit points withregards to LQA, JD Powers, etc.
Assist guests regarding hotelfacilities in an informative and helpful wayFollow departmentpolicies, procedures and service standardsFollow all safetypolicies Other duties as assignedThe Night Manager may be requiredto carry out other duties, directed by the Assistant Director ofFront Office Qualifications Previous Front Office experience insupervisory/management capacity in hospitality is required.
