Pre-sales Responsibilities:

  • Understanding Customer Needs: Engage with customers to understand their storage requirements, data growth projections, performance expectations, and budget constraints.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with sales teams to design storage solutions that align with customer requirements. This may involve selecting appropriate storage hardware (servers, disk arrays, storage area networks), storage protocols (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS), and software (file systems, volume managers, data replication, backup solutions).
  • Technical Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features, benefits, and capabilities of proposed storage solutions. Illustrate how the proposed solution addresses the customer's specific storage challenges and offers value.
  • Proof of Concept (POC) Support: Assist in setting up and executing proof-of-concept tests to validate the performance, scalability, and reliability of proposed storage solutions in the customer's environment.
  • Proposal Development: Provide technical input and expertise for proposals, bids, and tender responses. Collaborate with sales teams to ensure that proposals are technically sound, competitive, and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Technical Consultation: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering insights and recommendations on storage architecture, data management strategies, and industry best practices.

Post-sales Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and Deployment: Provide technical guidance and support during the implementation and deployment of storage solutions. Assist in configuring storage arrays, provisioning storage volumes, and integrating storage systems with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Serve as a point of contact for customers experiencing storage-related issues. Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, storage capacity constraints, data corruption issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze storage performance metrics and fine-tune storage configurations to optimize performance, throughput, and latency. Recommend hardware upgrades, software patches, or configuration changes as needed.
  • Data Migration and Data Protection: Assist customers in migrating data from legacy storage systems to new storage platforms. Implement data protection mechanisms such as snapshots, replication, and backup/recovery solutions to safeguard critical data.
  • Customer Training and Knowledge Transfer: Conduct training sessions for customers to educate them on storage solution features, administration tasks, and best practices. Provide documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles to empower customers to manage their storage infrastructure effectively.
  • Post-implementation Support: Provide ongoing technical support to customers, addressing their inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of deployed storage solutions. Proactively monitor storage health and performance to identify and mitigate potential issues before they impact business operations.

Communication skills in English is must.
