The Strategic Policy Research - (Specialist) will work towards the strategic direction of policy research initiatives within the organization, focusing on education policy development, partnership building, quality assurance of research content, and fostering synergy across departments.

This role requires expertise in educational policy research, partnership development, and strategic policymaking to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

The specialist will play a key role in shaping evidence-based policies, developing collaborations, and ensuring the quality and coherence of research efforts across various programs within the organization.


Additionally, the consultant will oversee developing, monitoring, and promoting the EAA's Knowledge Observatory, including crafting effective communication strategies for information dissemination to key stakeholders.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Policy Research and AnalysisMonitor the development of educational policy research content produced by programs, ensuring the quality of publications such as reports, case studies, papers, and documents.

Perform comprehensive analysis of educational policies, trends, and best practices to support decision
- making and program development, incorporating insights from both internal and external programs.


Partnership DevelopmentCultivate and manage strategic alliances with educational institutions, international organizations, local NGOs, implementation bodies, and relevant stakeholders to foster collaboration and support the organization's education policy objectives.

Collaborate with partners to pinpoint common areas of interest, pool resources, and amplify the impact of efforts aimed at advancing education policy objectivesConduct Webinars and Seminars related to the knowledge observatory.

Quality AssuranceOversee the quality and credibility of research outputs generated by the organization, encompassing reports, publications, and policy briefs.

Develop and enforce robust quality assurance protocols to uphold ethical standards and ensure consistency in research output standards while also managing and evaluating database cases within the knowledge observatory.


Strategic Partnership and Policy MakingCollaboration across organizational departments to ensure cohesion in policy research, advocacy, program implementation, and monitoring efforts, promoting knowledge exchange and resource optimization among teams.

Offer strategic guidance to senior leadership regarding policy priorities, emerging trends, and educational interventions, contributing to developing long-term strategic plans and objectives.

Additionally, it monitors and evaluates the impact of policy interventions, providing recommendations for adjustments or new initiatives as necessary.

Comprehensive knowledge of the fields of education, philanthropy, and international developmentExcellent strategic planning and strategic thinking capabilitiesDemonstrated capacity to research, analyze, and understand complex policy issuesExperience managing policy research projects, including in partnership with other stakeholdersConsultative approach to policy formulation and the ability to effectively engage relevant stakeholders and EAA personnelExcellent English written communication skillsStrong task orientation and the ability to reach research conclusions and produce high-quality written output rapidlyStrong customer service orientation and the ability to provide timely and high-quality support to EAA programs and departmentsAbility to work collaboratively with other members of the Strategy, Policy, and Research Function and with the Communications Department
