JobSummary andPurpose

Monitor and timely process claims related to Nakilats commerciallymanaged fleet collaborate and align with all related stakeholdersinternally to get the best possible outcomes via the charterpartyterms and/or support in negotiations with the relevantcounterparties.

Accountabilities

Core Accountabilities:

1. Build awellestablished knowledge of charter parties and their commercialimplications in any regard that may result in exposure toclaims.
2. Monitor the performance of the vessels againstthe charter parties and highlight any areas that may result in anydemurrage and offhire claims as necessary.
3. Monitor theperformance of the vessels in line with charter party warrantiesand generate a monthly summary report highlighting any areas ofover/underperformance (actual and potential). Further followupimmediately with the vessels technical manager to address anyunderperformance observations or concerns.
4. Recommendactions to resolve performance issues and continuously work towardsthe performance and efficiency of the fleet of ships.
5.Monitor track and execute relevant cost reimbursement claims tocharterers while liaising with the relevant internal stakeholdersi.e. Insurance Finance Fleet etc.
6. Provide relevantdocuments and information to successfully address any audit(internal and/or external) requirements.
7. Support postfixture operators by ensuring compliance with charter partyterms.
8. Ensure compliance with proper proceduresregarding management and approval of claims with refence to therespective and relevant internal lines of approval.
9.Monitor and track the Charterers accounts in collaboration withFinance from a financial perspective to highlight any areas ofconcern where transactions would need attention. i.e. Hire claimscost reimbursement etc.
10. Facilitate regular meetingswith Charterers for business discussions on the topic of claims asrequired.

Legal andInsurance:
11. Review terms of Charter Partywith Legal and Insurance functions and ensure that companysinterests are protected by ensuring necessary insurance coverage isin place proper defense is arranged through vessels P&IClub and finally seek reimbursement of relevant expenses fromcharterers as per charter party clauses.
12. NegotiateTCP claims seek legal advice and provide recommendation to Head ofChartering.

Planning:
13. Use all possible means for voyage planning including the use ofsoftware tools to monitor and coordinate all activities related tovoyage. Also analyze variance between the voyage plans versus theactual plan while generating report for the Head ofChartering.
14. Support the team in coordinating theperiodical meetings with vessels technical manager to address anytechnical/operational issues which could have a commercial impactas well as address any customers concerns.
15. Supportthe team in in coordinating timely between Charterers and vesselstechnical manager to conduct any Owners related matters (e.g. SIRECrew change spares delivery lube oil supply) with minimum deviationand minimum (target zero)offhire.

20. Support in collecting data to prepare relevantboard packages (for each JV/Operator in Nakilat fleet).
21. Carry out any other duties as directed by the immediatesupervisor.

Qualifications Experience and JobSkillsQualifications:
  • Degree inBusiness/Economics/Technical of Marine Engineering or any otherrelevant field.
  • Diploma in ship management andoperations (ICS preferred).
  • Diploma in shipchartering (ICSpreferred).
Experience:
  • Aminimum of 4 years of relevant experience as a charterer shippingand commercial operator in a shipowning company chartering desktrading desk International Oil & Gas Company or brokeragehouse.
  • Ideally most recent position shouldinvolve commercial and postfixture operations of vessels preferablyLNGCs VLGCs ortankers.
JobSpecific Skills:
  • Experiencein contracts and claims negotiation will be an addedadvantage.
  • Good knowledge of ShippingCommercial management Chartering and PostfixtureOperations.
