College Profile:

TheCollege of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses nine departments,covering a wide range of undergraduate specializations in the Artsand Sciences including English Literature and Linguistics, ArabicLanguage, Mass Communication, History, Sociology, Social Work,Psychology, International Affairs, Policy, Planning andDevelopment, Statistics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, andEnvironmental Sciences.

The College also houses Master Programs,which are M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences, M.A. in Gulf Studies,M.A. in Arabic Language and Literature, M.Sc. in Materials Scienceand Technology, and M.Sc. in Applied Statistics. In addition to aPhD in Biological and Environmental Sciences and a PhD in GulfStudies. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic forNon
  • Native Speakers.
Also, there are two established researchcenters namely the Center for Sustainable Development and the GulfStudies Center.

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is major source of researchfunding, with individual project funding limit exceeding 600,000$/project along with student research funding programs.

The department ofMass Communication is seeking dynamic individuals who can provideexpertise and leadership in the areas of print/online journalism,media writing, news reporting, writing and editing, newspaperdesign and editing, investigative journalism, data journalism,mobile journalism, online journalism, communication and mediaresearch methods, photojournalism, web design and publishing, andvisual communication.

We seek candidates with innovative ideas whowill be able to teach and help foster a potentially thrivingprint/online journalism program. Candidates must be qualified andexperienced in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels inArabic.

The successful candidate is expected to have professionalexperience in the journalism field and should be familiar with thenewsroom and news production process.

The successful candidateshould be familiar with Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator,Express, Substance 3D Modeler, Animate), image and videoauthenticate software, content management systems (Wix, WordPress,Joomla), and news publishing platforms (iNews).

The successfulcandidate should also be able to teach in Arabic. Englishproficiency is highly desirable.

The position also requires thesuccessful applicant to be and course development, serve ondepartment, college, and university-wide committees, conductscholarly activities including research and/or creative endeavors,and be involved in department, faculty and studentactivities.
