Bird farm manager cum veterinarian, primary responsibility is to manage the health and welfare of the bird.

  • Overseeing the daytoday operations of the bird farm.
  • Requires a combination of veterinary expertise, knowledge of bird biology and behaviour.
  • Strong management and communication skills.
  • Depending on the type of bird farm (Domestic Birds, Migratory Birds, Wild bird), specific certifications and training may be required, but a passion for birds and a commitment to their health and welfare is essential in all cases.
  • Monitoring the health and welfare of birds raised for meat and eggs, migratory birds & wild birds.
  • Developing and implementing preventative health care programs.
  • Maintaining records of bird health and treatment.
  • Coordinating with wildlife authorities to obtain necessary permits.
  • Designing and maintaining appropriate bird habitats and enclosures
  • Managing the health and welfare of birds raised for meat and eggs.
  • Coordinating with nutritionists to ensure birds are receiving appropriate feed and supplements.
  • Monitoring egg production and implementing strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to bird welfare and food safety.
  • Managing farm staff and coordinating with suppliers and customers.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in veterinary science or a related field.
  • Certification in wildlife veterinary medicine.
  • Extensive knowledge of behaviour of wild birds, migratory & domestic birds, and its biology.
  • Experience working with wild birds in a captive setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Conducting research on migratory bird behaviour and ecology.
Bird Farm: 2 years' experience (required)

Salary:
QAR20,000.00 per month
