Our client is a leading Qatari Holding Group with diversified global business interests within the Hospitality, Real Estate, Industrial, Investment Management and Financial Services sectors.

This Group is now expanding its operations into agricultural production for livestock, agricultural, animal breeding, flower production, horses, aquaponics and hydroponics farming.

Our client now seeks to recruit a Poultry Manager to oversee the poultry production (eggs) for the farming operations in Qatar.


Reporting to the Chairman and managing a poultry team, this role is responsible for the following:

  • Oversight of poultry production (eggs) as per production plan including the raising of birds in good quality, supervision of protocols for the humane treatment of birds and in compliance to the company's protocols and standards and technical advisory on issues pertaining to poultry.
  • Responsible for the hatching operation and operation of egg collection and ensure healthy flock to reduce mortality as per set KPI, reduce wastage and monitor different stages from hatching to adult chicken.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in raising poultry. Ensure designated protocols are followed for care, feeding, watering, pasturing, bedding, and sheltering of birds.
  • Liaison with Farm Manager to ascertain production requirements and to discuss condition of equipment and status of supplies.
  • Mentor and train employees and assign duties including collecting and candling eggs, feeding, and vaccinating poultry, crating, cleaning, and fumigating chicken houses.
  • Monitor order and plan requirement for feed across all different stages.
  • Maintain all certification requirements as per company standards and ensure highly safe and hygienic work practices are maintained.
  • Plan and monitor vaccines, medicines, and nutritional supplies for poultry irrigation.
  • Direct maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, such as chicken houses, automatic feeders, and layer nests.
  • Preparation of various reports including egg production reports, feed consumption reports, poultry mortality reports and employee attendance report.
  • Analyse training needs assessment reports and findings of team members. Develop training modules and prepare detailed training plans.

The attributes we seek for this role comprise:

  • Bachelor in Veterinary Science or a related field with a minimum of 2 years in Bird Farming being essential.
  • 6+ years relevant experience in agriculture, farming and livestock management with a minimum of 3 years management experience.
  • The strong communicator we seek will possess strong organizational and management skills.
