The Clinical NurseEducator is a key member of the educational leadership team,supporting both the department's and theorganization's strategic direction.

As a key member, theeducator ensures that educational initiatives and processes supportthe standards for Best Practice, Sidra policies, and regulatoryrequirements.

The educator works collaboratively with respectiveunit leads in supporting the development, maintenance andadvancement of competence in Sidra employees. The Clinical NurseEducator provides clinical development and training, formulatingand delivering educational programs and assessment of skills andcompetency. The post holder identifies risks in educationalprocesses, informing leadership and actively participating inmanaging timely solutions.

The post holder develops the unitspecific design and delivery of orientation and ongoing clinicaleducation and participates in the development and delivery ofinstitution-wide clinical education initiatives.

5 + yearsPediatric Critical Care Nursing Experience and 2 years ClinicalNurse Educator experience or practice development role experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and holds a currentRegistered Nurse license. It would be preferred it the candidateheld certification/diploma in Education. Cardiac Intensive CareUnit experience would be beneficial. Must have a working knowledgeof learning theory and curriculum design.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Registered Nurse

PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Nursing or related healthfield Certificate/ diploma in leadership, education or attendanceat a course Experience:

ESSENTIAL:
5+ years of inpatient/outpatientpediatric acute care nursing experience 2+ years of recentexperience in an educator role or staff development role in anacute care Hospital or as clinical faculty Demonstrated workingknowledge of learning theory and curriculum design

PREFERRED:
+7years in relevant practice setting in an acute care setting 5+years' educator/ manager role experience in an acute carefacility Certification and Licensure:

ESSENTIAL:
Current NursingLicense from country of origin Job Specific Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of health education/ health promotion theories andmodalities Knowledge and understanding of age-specific learningprinciples Knowledge of evidence-based practice, research, andability to evaluate learning outcomes Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills Demonstrated commitment to continuingeducation to improve teaching practices that facilitate learningProficiency with Microsoft Office suite Fluency in written andspoken

English Key Role Accountabilities:
In collaboration with theManager/Director
  • Nursing Education and Practice Development,makes decisions regarding the need for new educational initiatives;the design, delivery and assessment.
This is driven by quantitativedata reflecting employee competence, the culture of patient safety,and effective family centered care and qualitative data assessingemployee/ patient/ family satisfaction, with implications forchanges to educational initiatives and assessment criteria, tools,and processes. In collaboration with clinical leads, makesdecisions regarding clinical staff performance in their respectivepractice settings. He/ she participates in the assessment ofcompetence of each clinical staff member, with respective managersor identified clinical leads.

Serves as a professional and clinicalrole model for staff demonstrating behaviors consistent with theorganizational/ education competency framework, Sidra values andSidra policies, procedures and guidelines.

Ensures that educationis provided in accordance with established guidelines, policies andprotocols of Sidra and the State of Qatar to support standards ofhealth service delivery.

Works collaboratively and creatively withall team members to achieve divisional/ departmental/ unit serviceobjectives optimizing evidence and relevant research and changetheory.

Develops key performance indicators for clinical staff.
Manages resource utilization to secure timely, efficient,accessible and effective education for employees. Continuallyevaluates learning, making necessary modifications to optimizeeducational process/ program.

Supports quality data collection andanalysis as the process of evaluating outcomes; learning, staff/family centered care and satisfaction, patient/ family outcomes.

Collaborates with clinical managers, colleagues, and leadershipteam to plan, implement and evaluate the educational needs of staffand family. Initiates changes/ improvements based on educator/staff/ family feedback.

Promotes the effective orientation,precepting and support of new staff and affiliated students in thepractice setting; provides a welcoming work environment.

Promotesretention of all staff by creating a healthy work environment thatfacilitates teamwork. Treats colleagues, patients and visitors withdignity and respect at all times. Contributes, as necessary, toperformance appraisals (probationary and annual reviews) withrespective clinical leads ensuring evidence is concrete andobjective. Develops individual learning plans with clinical leadsarising from appraisals as necessary. Provides clear feedback toteam members in a manner that is conducive to maintaining andimproving performance. Supports Clinical research. Role modelsconflict resolution when required, promoting evidence basedsolutions where accessible. Establishes and maintains effectiveadministrative processes related to educational programs andprocesses. Prepares reports and maintains records of activity andoutcomes. Participates in staff meetings. Develops, reviews andrevises educational policies and procedures in collaboration withmanagers as required. Participates in Sidra wide PerformanceImprovement activities and committees as assigned. Develops andsustains own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awarenessand maintains a professional profile. Provides documented evidenceof performance and maintenance of skills consistent with position.

Supports new Sidra employees and affiliated students with a safeand effective learning environment to support the assessment,development or advancement of competence in the Sidra environmentIntegrates knowledge of learning theory and curricula design indelivering educational initiatives to meet the needs of Sidraemployees and affiliated students.
