Leads the planning team and supports the COMPANY project planning efforts for the execution phase of the project in Ras Laffan Industrial City, State Of Qatar.

Ensures all planning and reporting obligations of the Contractor's organization are complied with and is responsible for all COMPANY project planning activities:

  • Supports the Business Division Manager and is responsible for all aspects of project planning, monitoring, analysis and control.
  • Liaises with all discipline teams within the Organization, the Onshore Shared Resource Team, and other COMPANY for matters related to project coordination, planning interfaces and integration.
  • Coordinates with and assists Project Management, including Areas Management in the provision of a comprehensive integrated planning, status monitoring, reporting and risk evaluation for the project. Performs overall analysis and consolidation at a summary level for internal and external reporting to project management, shareholders and external organizations to meet the project progress, risk and opportunity management data requirements.

About this role

  • Oversees Planning and Scheduling of the project program, monitoring alignment with defined targets and identifying deviations and risks to be reported to the Business Division Manager, Project Manager. Oversees project progress and performance, supports timely identification of potential issues and mitigation actions.
  • Oversees and manages accuracy, completeness, transparency, and consistency of reporting/dashboards, including those prepared and issued by the Contractor.
  • Provides planning representation in PMT meetings; provides an overview on progress, risks, and trends, addressing specific areas of concern and ways to mitigate them. Participates in Schedule Risk Workshops and leads schedule risk assessment to ensure adherence to approved parameters.
  • Ensures Contractor's procedures and processes comply with the contract obligations and other COMPANY requirements. Leads and participates in COMPANY quality assurance audits and reviews to ensure robustness, accuracy and deliverability of baseline schedules and identifies opportunities to enhance overall value.
  • Supports COMPANY review of Contractor claims, extension of time submissions and carries out forensic schedule analysis during disputes. Drives timely Management of Change for changes that may affect project schedule targets. Acts as gatekeeper for project planning in the schedule assurance process to ensure deliverability of project schedule milestones in accordance with contractual obligations to meet project handover targets.

What you need to bring

  • Extensive experience in planning tools including Primavera Project Planner P6 Cloud version, MS Project, and Primavera Risk Analyzer.
  • Extensive use of project planning tools and techniques and hands on experience in usage of analytical software for project monitoring and analysis.
  • Advanced presentation skills and provision of evidence based recommendations.
  • High level of computer literacy with relevant MS Office and Project Control Software packages.
  • Proven experience of large and complex projects and facilities, including LNG facilities understanding of construction sequence, Advanced Work Packaging approach, precommissioning, commissioning and handover activities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • Advanced professional degree in Project Management or Certified PMP is desirable or equivalent professional association.
  • Minimum of 12 years project planning experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction of major oil & gas projects, preferably LNG.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Project controls/management with significant prior experience of project planning through all project phases from inception to handover.
  • Work experience in the GCC Countries is desirable.
