Youwill work closely with the Executive & Academic Principalsto lead the Secondary School through the next phase of itsstrategic development.

As well as heading up the SecondaryLeadership Team and having full responsibility for your school youwill also join the Head of Primary and other senior colleagues inshaping the future strategic direction of the whole of QIS, itsexpansion and developments.

Our new Head of Secondary will belearning focussed and ready to collaborate, grow and flourish inour successful and friendly team.

The right person might be anexperienced Headteacher or an aspirational Deputy seeking theirfirst headship.

Either way, you will need to:

  • Lead byexample and inspire the confidence of all stakeholders throughenthusiasm and commitment to the role.
  • Offer a clearvision for the school and role model outstanding leadership tosecure continued improvement and further success for all.

About Qatar International School QIS was founded by Sheikh Alibin Ahmed bin Thani Al Thani in 1977, making us one of the firstBritish International Schools in Qatar. Since then, we have changedand grown significantly – including a move to our currentlocation of Al Dafna in 2001. Indeed, from very small beginningsalmost 50 years ago, QIS has now grown into one of the largest andmost prestigious schools in the country, with more than 2,000students on role. In 2015, the school received the highest possiblegrading from the Qatar National Schools Accreditation programme,when inspected by the country's Ministry of Education andHigher Education.
Then, in 2020, QIS achieved two highlyprestigious international accreditations:

Firstly, QIS was judgedto be 'outstanding' in every category of the UKgovernment's British School Overseas (BSO) inspectionframework – only the third school, at the time, in theworld ever to have achieved this.

Secondly, in the same year, QISbecame the first school in the world to be awarded Council forInternational Schools (CIS) accreditation by a new fast-trackprocess for outstanding schools.

The final CIS report included over100 individual commendations and helps to make us one of the mosthighly regarded educational establishments in the region.

QIS isalso the only school in the Middle East accredited to deliver OLEVItraining courses straight from the UK, such as The OutstandingTeacher's Programme.

The school also partners with manyother world-renowned training providers to ensure cutting-edge bestpractice. We are proud to say that quality training for staff ispart of the QIS culture.
