Overview: Element has anopportunity for a Chemistry Technical Assistantfor testing sample preparation and delivery/collection ofsamples and preparation of test reports.
Responsibilities:
  • Analysis of waterphysical chemical andmicrobiological parameters
  • Analysis of oresand minerals
  • Analysis of water soil aggregatesconcrete and scale samples
  • Operation ofequipment like pH / EC / TDS meters UVvisible spectrophotometersovens furnaces incubators fusion machines
  • Prepare the reagents standard solution and ensure standardisationof the solution used in the laboratory
  • Handling and storage all chemicals as per the Material Safety DataSheet (MSDS)
  • Managing the calibration of glasswares and the instruments
  • Performance ofqualitative and quantitative laboratory tests and analysis of othersubstances as per standard method
  • Issuereports and receive samples to and from the respectiveentities
  • Involvement in site and field testingwith various international standards or inhouseprocedures
  • Ensure work compliance to ISO 17025requirements
  • Coordinating with the othertechnicians in the team to carry out work as per the planningschedule
  • Manual handling ofsamples
  • General maintenance cleaning andchecking of equipment
  • Working to all HSEstandards
  • Interaction with clients duringwitnessed testing
  • Generating test reports forclients (data entry quality assurance)
  • Ensuring compliance to all Element Material Technology qualitystandards
  • Driving to customer site to collectsamples and / or conduct testing at their lab on a regular / dailybasis
  • Willing to assist in other activitiesfrom time to time that may be requested by the department managerto assist in the execution of Element Material Technology annualtargets and budget
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Have a diploma / degree in chemistry with atleast 2 years experience in similar role
  • Havethe ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to workdifferent working hours (night / day) shifts if required ornecessary
  • Good English communication skills:reading writing speaking
  • Good mathsskills
  • Knowledge and experience of safeoperation of testing equipment and operating in an independent /chemistry / consultant laboratory
