We are looking for an agile and entrepreneurialleader with strong people leadership and technical capability whohas a problemsolving and analytical aptitude excellentcommunication and presentation skills is familiar with statisticshas a business acumen independent positive cando attitude andpassion for excellence to the workplace.

Your role and our tech stack
Reporting to the founder you will be expected to develop deploy andoversee the execution of the tech strategy product roadmap andoperations to ensure alignment with our businesses goals as we growand scale. You will play a key part in the organisations successtaking the current MVP and developing it further to move thecompany through to early stage funding and into profit.

Quessts is built using Frontend BackendPostgreSQL DB Amazon EC2 Application Hosting Amazon S3 MediaStorage Service and Amazon SES Email Sending Service. You will beresponsible for implementing fullstack features and collaboratewith other team members to plan each sprint. Youll be workingacross the entire system architecture and be responsible fordesigning implementing and maintaining restful APIs microservicesand databases.

Your keyresponsibilities

• Developimprove and optimize the structure quality and extensibility ofcurrent software technologies codebases and databases
• Prototype ideas to quickly access viability and iteratebased on feedback from the team
• Build robustwebbased applications interacting with databases filesystems andAPIs
• Write custom code or integrate opensource technologies as needed to find solutions toproblems
• Design and build effective APIs;Create servers and databases for functionality
• Design clientside and serverside architecture; Designthe data model ensuring scalability
• Accurately translate screen designs into functional frontend code;Develop features and with a mobile responsive design
• Write highquality extensible testable and reusable codeand libraries; Conduct code reviews and establishment of bestpractices
• Participate in planning activities;Estimate accurate stores for new features and design productfeatures
• Help define processes and buildtools as needed to scale the solution and the team
• Create and lead the product roadmap; Proactivelybreakdown work manage development sprints identify risks andexplore solutions
• Test software to ensureresponsiveness and efficiency; Troubleshoot debug and upgradesoftware; Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problemsolving
• Steer the business on timescalesprioritization and costs on competing developmentrequirements
• Drive rigorous and weeklyproduct releases and lead required integration efforts withpartners and/or thirdparty software services
• Guide the development in design architecture and platform choiceswith strong focus on quality speed stability andscalability
• Identify and establish bestpractices and frameworks keeping in mind parameters of performanceresponsiveness security maintainability extensibility and reuse;Work collaboratively in a lean and agile environment; Writetechnical documentation
• Recommend andimplement new technologies improvement of existing tech and setupand futureproofing our technology that can help the companyoptimize efficiency and productivity and lead edge thinking andknowledge of innovative technologies i.e. AI ML blockchainetc..

Yourqualifications

• Minimum ofBSc in Computer Science/IT/Electronics/Software Engineering or acomparable degree program
• Proven experienceof 25 years of fullstack development of web applications; 2 yearsbuilding frontend interfaces with & Reduxworkflows and 2 years building backend and maintaining serverapplications on PostgreSQL and designing APIs
• Expert in traditional webdev stack (HTML5 CSS3 JS);Strong in core JavaScript (ES5 ES6 ESNext TypeORM and Typescript)and JS object model
• Experience with Linuxenvironments and using the shell and command line terminals(preferred)
• Professional coding experience inobjectoriented and scripting languages; Extensive experiencebuilding clientside web applications using React
• Proficient with:
  • JavaScriptFrameworks (ReactJS/NextJS/Redux) and )
  • Clientside MVC frameworks suchas NodeJS React JS NextJS Redux and AngularJS; Knowledge ofisomorphic React
  • Configuration of variousservers to run web application servers databases etc.; Web servertechnologies like Nginx NodeJS Apache etc.
  • Frontend CSS frameworks like Bootstrap Material UI andpreprocessors like SASS and SCSS/LESS
  • Writingand integrating middleware; Experience with Redux Saga andThunk
  • Architecture design queries ofRelational databases (PostgreSQL MySQL and other RDBMS)
  • Modern JS tooling (NPM Webpack Babel ESLint andPrettier)
  • Developer tools such as VisualStudio Code
  • Code versioning tools and Gitversion control systems (Github); Containerization systems(Docker)
  • Strong in data structures XMLtechnologies JSON parsing
  • Caching frameworksand mechanisms worktask queues transactions and messaging queues(Redis Memcached RabbitMQ and others)
  • Building realtime applications using Web )
  • Web and mobile push notificationsand cloud message APIs (GCM APNS OneSignal etc.)
  • Setting up cron jobs and schedule taskexecution
  • Handling Services RESTful APIsthird party libraries and APIs (Google APIs AWS Zendesketc.)
• Experience with API gateway distributed infrastructurearchitectures and applications tuning/profiling; Experience workingwith microservices
• User authentication andauthorization between multiple systems servers and environments;Understanding of session management in a distributed serverenvironment
• Experience with REST API and webservice construction integration and architecture and working withremote data via REST and JSON
• Knowledge ofmodern authorization mechanisms such as JSON Web TokenAuthentication and Security Technologies
• Familiarity with building secure systems (OWASP secure codingpractices or similar)
• Architect andclouddeploy applications on AWS and other cloudproviders
• Deep understanding of TestDrivenDevelopment (TDD)
• Build and manage endtoendand UI tests; Experience writing tests (unit integration functionaletc.) and using testing frameworks
• Buildthirdparty integrations like Slack Stripe Google and supportingtheir workflow
• Provision DevOps tooling withcontinuous integration; Build modern Frontend build pipelines andtools
• Contribute to API documentationincluding API description languages like Swagger; Document anddiagram functional flows and architectures
• Experience in building rich PWA applications; Experience inresponsive design cross browser compatibility and websiteperformance
• Understanding of how browsers andDOM work; Understanding and experience with asynchronous processingpartial page refresh DOM traversal and manipulation
• Expert level using Web Analytics tools (Google Analyticsand others); Experience with open source softwaredevelopment
• Experience with localization andinternationalization of applications (working with multisite setupsmultilanguage i18n etc.)

Some desired extras and good to have skills

• Knowledge of cybersecurity malware analysisthreat detection and/or sandboxing technology
• Preferably has knowledge of working in big data (Spark KafkaHadoop) and machine learning ecosystems
• Strong background in security and data analytics and onpremise dataexperience
• Experience and familiarity with:
  • Architecture design queries and aggregationof NoSQL databases (MongoDB Cassandra and others)
  • Elasticsearch and ELK stack
