About the role:

We have embarked on an exciting digital transformation journey to leverage technology as a key business differentiator and a competitive advantage. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing the technology products and services portfolio for the different lines of business within Qatar Airways. You will partner with assigned business departments to identify technology-enabled business outcomes, prioritize, and deliver them while working closely with product owners, delivery leads, software engineering leads, and external suppliers. We are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager who will lead large digital projects, formulate technical solutions, and overall lead the digital journey.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver large scale IT programs/projects in alignment with the organization's strategic plans and objectives.
  • Formulate technical solutions and lead the delivery while working closely with the Product Owners/Delivery leads.
  • Work closely with business leaders (VPs and above) in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Drive innovation to ensure that solutions drive value to the business.
  • Drive communication plans, engage stakeholders across business functions, control and report progress to the Steering Group/Sponsor, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify inter-dependencies between various stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure appropriately skilled resources are delivering the project and manage the availability and performance of those consultants.
  • Oversee and supervise employees, mentor, coach, and build technology competence in the delivery resources.
  • Liaise with external 3rd party suppliers and internal departments/IT teams to collaborate and design and implement robust, secure solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of technical delivery experience.
  • Hands-on experience in managing large program/project delivery execution through onsite/offshore models, vendor management, and mobilizing large teams across multiple technology platforms.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the delivery teams and work closely with project managers to manage project schedules/timelines.
  • Experience in business process transformation and leveraging technology in the automation of manual processes.
  • Expertise in Agile/Waterfall software development practices, Design Thinking, Lean Software Management, and DevSecOps is preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal) and presentation skills at organization leadership levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Must be a go-getter with a positive attitude, self-motivating, innovative, open-minded, and inspiring.
  • PMI or other industry-leading certifications around Project Management and Agile methodologies are preferred.
  • Domain experience in Ground Services or Airport Operations will be an added advantage.
