Job Description:

The Project Manager – HVAC, ESCO Systems is a key role directly reporting to the Branch Manager. You will be based in Qatar and will be a part of a growing team, responsible for driving the growth of business for HVAC, ESCO Systems.

You will lead the project management efforts on designing and executing projects. You will manage the assigned engineering projects, QA/QC policies, performance standards, specifications, and will interact daily with customers to interpret their needs and requirements, mapping them in the field and coordinating with internal stakeholders.

How you will do it:

As an experienced Project Manager, you should have expertise in project execution and advanced knowledge of designing HVAC solutions involving Chillers, AHU, FCUs, and Energy solutions in the Middle East region. You have to:

  1. Initiate and respond to contractual issues throughout the contract & Project phase.
  2. Monitor project progress, prepare project progress reports, and represent the company in customer project, quality, and HSE meetings.
  3. Be responsible for formal (letter) and informal (verbal) communication with customers, invoicing processing, and collection of payments from customers.
  4. Prepare technical submittals and submission to customers, and be responsible for production and issuance of design drawings/calculations.
  5. Prepare and comply with the project quality plan and Inspection & test plans, ensuring full compliance of the project with specifications and customer requirements.
  6. Assume full responsibility for cost management of the projects, preparing and submitting monthly project cost reports to senior management for review.
  7. Initiate change processes to manage variations to contracts and follow projects to completion, ensuring final payment.
  8. Ensure key milestone dates are met – if delays occur, develop plans to bring the project back on track.
  9. Manage all allocated resources to complete the project on time and under budget, and be responsible for raising requests for resources within budgeted allowance.
  10. Responsible for the development and training of allocated personnel.
  11. Be conversant with company and customer QHSE policies/procedures and ensure that operatives understand and implement them in their responsible areas.
  12. Liaise with QA/QC and HSE managers on all aspects of Quality and HSE.
  13. Prepare and submit project completion feedback reports to the sales department.
  14. Monitor the progress of sub-contracted works, ensuring all applicable QHSE documents are available at the point of use, particularly project-specific QHSE documents at the site.
  15. Ensure complete project data/records are archived after project completion and forwarded to the IS department for effective archiving.
  16. Ensure non-conformities in materials/products are dealt with according to applicable management system procedures, taking appropriate corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence/occurrence of non-conformities.
  17. Ensure required inspections and tests of products are performed, and inspection & test records maintained, prior to product handover to customers.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Similar Discipline from a reputable university.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years project Engineering experience in execution of HVAC / ESCO systems.
  • Recent experience of working at a management level in the GCC region.
  • Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation, people management, and influencing skills.
  • Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality and impactful professional documents for customers and internal use.
  • Fluency in the English language is essential, with excellent business writing and email etiquette.
  • Analytical and decision-making ability.
  • MMUP / UPDA certified.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
