The rig supervisor (day) acts as the senior company representative onboard the drilling unit. He is accountable for the technical integrity of the well, accuracy and completeness of reports and company property.

Your TasksManagement
  • Manage the program in accordance with approved company programs, HSE policies, standards, and systems to fully meet project objectives.
  • Provide instructions to the barge contractors and third-party service contractors with respect to conduct of the work.
  • Ensure service company personnel are aware of their duties and that all required personnel, materials, and equipment are at the rig and checked ready for the job.
  • Ensure regulations pertaining to the work are adhered to by all parties.
Operations
  • Co-supervise routine operations such as Kill Well, ESP replacement, acidizing, nitrogen pumping by CT, slickline and Production Test (Flow Back), etc.
  • Co-supervise non-routine operations such as fishing or logging by CT.
  • Manage the work in conjunction with other company on-board personnel.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of well bore conditions and operating constraints that affect operational safety including weather conditions.
  • Initiate changes to the pre-agreed program when and as required, to protect personnel, environment, equipment and the well.
  • Lead the well control team on-board in conjunction with the barge contractor's senior personnel.
  • Ensure well control and safety/survival equipment is serviceable, and personnel are competent in its use.
  • Work with the onshore team to ensure effective use of marine vessels and aircraft regarding movement of personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Audit the work performed by the barge contractor and third-party service contractors to ensure it is performed according to terms of contracts and agreements.
  • Prior to going offshore, Supervisor must be involved in pre-load out checks, assist in preparation of operating procedures, and attend procedure review meetings.
  • Provide a detailed daily operations report.
  • Proficient in preparing daily work instructions.
  • Supervising National junior company personnel and multinational service company personnel.
  • Supervisor to ensure the job is executed as per the approved program and all the risk mitigation measures identified in pre job safety meeting. Pre job safety meeting to be conducted before starting any job.
  • Provide end of well report.
  • Participate in post job wash ups and lesson learned.
Reporting
  • Ensure all routine work and cost control reports required by the operator, he and the regulatory organizations are completed to a professional standard.
HSE
  • Manage company HSE systems on the barge with Company HSE advisor.
  • Play a lead role in the barge contractor's Emergency Response Plan on the barge.
  • Observe all company health, safety and environmental instructions, act in a safe manner and avoid unnecessary risks to themselves and others.
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions or activities, dangerous occurrences, or injuries in the workplace.
  • Assist new employees in the use of relevant work procedures and practices in order to ensure their safety and the safety of all employees.
  • Provide Safety Leadership by example.
Your Profile
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in offshore oil & gas drilling and well workover/intervention operations.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in drilling and well workover/intervention supervisory position – well familiar with oil/gas drilling (sidetracks, horizontal drilling), well workover/well intervention operations and stimulation (well kill operations, de-completion, fishing, open hole logging, deployment of shut off devices, coiled tubing, running completions, acidizing, ESP replacement, etc.).
  • Recent exposure to Qatari Oil & Gas operations.
  • Valid certification in IWCF (level 4) well control, H2S, and Sea Survival (HUET).
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Good data management and computer literacy.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • An Engineering degree from a recognized University is preferable.
  • Recent exposure to Middle East Oil & Gas operations.
  • Specific Petroleum Engineering Qualifications e.g., stuck pipe prevention, Safety training etc.
