Job purpose: Cluster Director, Strategy & Business Planning is a leadership position reporting to the Cluster Chief Commercial Officer and assisting the Executive Leadership team to develop, evaluate, and implement critical business strategies that have a cluster-wide impact. This position will be responsible for leading strategic and business planning, market intelligence, growth initiatives, and driving execution.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Evaluates, develops, and facilitates the implementation of strategic and business plans to support market-specific growth plans, new clinical programs and services, and innovative models of care across the continuum, including market and environmental assessments, operational and capital requirements.

  • Leads the business development process to identify, evaluate and prioritize innovative growth opportunities, developing business cases and implementation plans.
  • Leads market assessments and determines areas of opportunity/threat across the continuum based on analyses.
  • Develops recommendations, programs, and services for new growth areas.
  • Works closely with the Elegancia Healthcare leadership team in executive strategic planning activities and analysis to identify organic and inorganic opportunities.
  • Investigates key market needs, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategic direction, strategy development, and priorities setting.
  • Engages with the senior leadership to articulate strategic viewpoints, research finding and perspectives on strategic initiatives in order to enable/influence informed strategic decision making, facilitate outcome-oriented dialogues to drive consensus and alignment.
  • Evaluates and supports the development of strategic affiliations, joint ventures, and partnerships with other organizations, including due diligence and deal structuring.
  • Tackles ambiguous challenges by structuring and framing problems, executing research as needed to collect relevant data, and preparing an assessment of potential go-forward options.
  • Leads cross-functional teams in developing and implementing strategic roadmaps, manage key engagements and facilitate workshops.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to leadership on strategic and business planning initiatives, market trends, and other related topics.
  • Tracks industry and competitive trends, examines strategic performance, spots emerging market opportunities, scans markets for risks or business threats.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify and evaluate operational and management problems, and to make timely decisions and actions to effectively resolve them.
  • Manages the performance, career progression and activities of any direct reports by setting annual objectives, identifying training opportunities, mentoring, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to improve their performance.
  • Manages the development, implementation of and compliance to the healthcare policies, systems, processes, and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement, to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
  • Responsible for people development in his/ her department through coaching, developing, and motivating direct report(s).
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE&E and QM policies, procedures, and controls across the healthcare to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service standards and a responsible environmental attitude.

Education requirements

MBA / MHA or master's degree in related field (Required).

Language requirements

English – Fluent (Required) | Arabic – Fluent (Preferred)

Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic planning and strategy development in a complex healthcare organization

  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in GCC (preferred)
  • Experience in managing global projects and multi-cultural project teams, as well experience in managing virtual teams where members are located in multiple countries and time zones.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong experience within a health system or consulting firm at a senior level with demonstrated success in working within a matrix environment.
  • Strong experience in financial and operational modelling
  • Subject matter expertise in healthcare strategy, business development, innovation, and new healthcare models.
  • Solid team-leading leadership, process group facilitation, project management, and consensus building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team both directly and virtually, including ability to consult widely, bring together diverse views, and facilitate agreement on critical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools and applications.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, continually prioritizing requests while being able to balance attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
