AKTI is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations within the underwriting department, addressing internal and external issues related to underwriting, quotation issuance, claims, and policy administration.

Key Responsibilities :

Policy Administration :

  • Prepare and issue individual and group quotations, including tenders, and communicate them to clients.
  • Issue policies, cards, related documentation, and invoices.
  • Process policy endorsements (additions, deletions, and amendments) and verify eligibility of covered persons.
  • Underwrite quotes and refer to the senior underwriter or Head of Department for approval.
  • Prepare various production reports and manage the distribution of issued policies / endorsements.
  • Review claims eligibility according to plan benefits.
  • Process and book medical claims for providers and primary insured / claimants

Accounts Administration :

  • Manage receivables invoices, process premiums, and resolve invoicing issues.
  • Review aging balances and follow up on premium dues with policyholders.
  • Reconcile statement accounts for TPA fees, network claims, and reinsurer dues.

Travel Policy Issuance & Reporting :

  • Oversee the issuance of travel insurance through our online partner network (Swan International Assistance).

Qualifications :

  • 4-5+ years with insurance background with 2 years in medical underwriting
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, or a medical field.
