This position in the Media Majlis (NU-Q) is the primary staff member engaging with museum audiences and communities, leading on the operational, creative, and logístical aspects of the museum, exhibition and program audiences, visibility and outreach, community engagement, and the people and platforms which support this work.

**Responsibilities**:

- Outreach to and engagement with Qatar communities, ranging across type and location as a form of introducing the museum and creating visitorship, use and support. Including creation of engagement plan with Director, production of needed materials, events or similar to increase engagement with the museum and by extension NU-Q.
- Management of visitor-related aspects within and around the NU-Q building, including digital and analog wayfinding signage, and possible Media Wall uses, similar aspects around Education City, and direction to VSC on aspects related to front desk, audience management & safety, bookstore, coffee shop and similar. To make visitors welcome, increase wayfinding ease, and comfort in building and during visit.
- Audience evaluation, including management of student workers, collection of data, work with external firm, and forward planning of evaluation with Director. Evaluation informs all exhibition, program, web, and publication development.
- Management of visitor guide ‘Inside the Majlis’, coordinating with curators and other contributors on their inclusion, translation, layout & printing. Result of on-time printing and distribution
- Oversight of museum events (including exhibition openings) through coordination with NU-Q events staff to contribute to planning. Oversight of and collaboration with VSC for invitations, services, and museum-related components. Two openings per year plus additional events, including weekends. Serves as a representative of the museum in events in the NU-Q building.
- Contribute to museum social media and website through active use and management of social media management platform and website contributions. With Director, ensure outward-facing communication responds to visitor needs and builds communities of interested people.
- Other visitor-centric aspects as directed.

**Required knowledge, skills, and abilities**:

- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of experience actively engaging with the public in a cultural institution.
- Comfort engaging with the public, and initiative in solving time-sensitive issues.
- Ability to initiate, manage and grow external relationships with individuals and organizations.
- Qatar (or other Gulf States) experience and knowledge of social and cultural landscapes.
- Organization and oversight of concurrent projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Flexibility, adaptability, proactive work mindset, organizational skills

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master’s in museum studies or practice, non-profit arts administration, or similar area.
- 5+ years of progressive experience engaging with the public in a cultural institution.
- Experience with one or more museums in Qatar or broader Gulf region
- Experience with writing public-facing materials, print and digital.

Skills in exhibition evaluation processes and methods, report creation, data analysis and visualization
