**Job Purpose**
Plan, manage and lead the provision of specialist services engineering of identified and approved modification and CAPEX engineering projects for company, across all locations, from data collation, conception to project handover phase within approved project parameters while ensuring alignment with industrial best practices/company guidelines and stakeholder expectations in order to meet customer satisfaction, in accord with the project’s vision and business strategy.

**Key Accountabilities**

Strategy Contribution and Implementation
- Contribute (or develop in consultation with the Engineering Services Manager) to the development of the departmental strategy and support effective cascading of the departmental strategy into section’s policies and procedures of the section in line with the overall business objectives of the Engineering Office Division.

People Management
- Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and the overall performance.

Organization Structure
- Support the Engineering Services Manager in defining an optimum structure for the plant so that resources are optimally utilized, and communication can take place in an efficient manner.

Budgets and Plans
- Prepare and propose the budget for the Engineering operations, monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Performance Management
- Collaborate with department management and carry out effective cascading of defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Engineering section in alignment with the strategic objectives and operational needs while leading the periodic monitoring of same in relation to the targets and providing feedback and guidance on handing any non-conformances to achieve defined objectives in line with company standards and guidelines.

Engineering Expertise
- Provide expert technical advice on a wide variety of related engineering matters. Act as the in-house focal point, to provide such advice either personally or in conjunction with the team of multi-discipline engineers.
- Manage the preparation of feasibility and conceptual studies, FEED/basic and detailed designs by lead discipline engineers/superintendents and engineers for works that have a mechanical, piping electrical, instrumentation, control, civil/structural and materials engineering content.
- Provide expert technical advice and direction during the design work and ensure that all necessary data, information, and design office support is provided.
- Review and approve all completed designs and study reports prior to release inclusive of cost estimates and scopes of work.
- Liaise with other engineering or other divisional staff to answer queries, provide additional and/or back-up support as required.
- Manage the evaluation of requests for all company facilities modification/enhancement involving a wide variety of mechanical, piping, electrical, civil/structural, instrumentation and control, and materials engineering related problems, and provide appropriate solutions and/or acceptance or rejection of proposed changes.
- Manage the production of conceptual, front-end (FEED) and detailed engineering for assigned projects, including cost estimates, terms of references, and project schedules.
- Manage in-house lead discipline engineers/ senior engineers and drafting/design team in the preparation of necessary drawings, engineering calculations and analysis, project specifications, data sheets/material requisitions, and ensure correctness, completeness and compliance with industry and company standards and specifications. Where consultants are used for conceptual, front-end and detailed engineering, ensure correctness, completeness, quality, adherence to industry and company standards and timely completion of the work.
- Approve all the technical documents and manage the fiscal aspects of the engineering contracts.

Project Execution and Management
- Lead the provision of technical expertise and guidance for the preparation of the project budget with the cost estimation team and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
- Provide overall management for the determination of overall project resourcing, identify risks and prepare contingency plans for the entire engineering projects portfolio to ensure that the goals are achievable within required schedules and budgets.
