**Position Summary**

The Department ofCivil and Environmental Engineering has an opening in **the area of TransportationEngineering**. Applications are welcomedfrom applicants with a specialization within Transportation Engineering,especially from those with specialization in**:Intelligent TransportationSystems (ITS), Traffic Operations, Traffic Safety Analysis, Traffic Simulation,and Transportation Planning**. The appointed applicant will teach in theDepartment of Civil and Environmental Engineering and will have jointassociation with Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center at QatarUniversity to support the Center research and service to the industry. **Theapplicant should have a track record in collaborating or working with theindustry through practical projects such as Traffic Impact studies, Trafficsimulation modelling, and Traffic Safety studies**.

- Be able to adopt and develop a “student centered” approach to teaching and learning,
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in related Civil Engineering disciplines.
- Develop expertise in using course management environments such as _Blackboard_ to support taught courses and assessment,
- Contribute to collaborative research, consulting and short courses in conjunction with local industries,
- Contribute to a collegiate atmosphere in the Department and College, and
- Advise undergraduate students and be involved effectively in service duties such as capstone project reviews, design juries, committee work and curriculum development.
