As our Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for planning, directing, controlling and coordinating the activities of the Engineering department.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

- Direct and control all subordinate engineering staff to ensure that all day to day operation matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met.
- Maintain facilities and equipment by conducting routine inspections and determining appropriate rectification measures.
- Maintain systems to be able to handle day to day guest requests quickly and efficiently.
- Plan and schedule appropriate on-going preventative maintenance programs.
- To be aware of all fire, health, safety, emergency and security procedures in the hotel.
- To adhere to the Department and Hotel’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s)

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role within a similar hotel brand or business.
- Strategic, creative and bale to communicate effectively.
- Proficient in all aspects of building operations and facilities management
- A proven leader who is able to inspire others and drive change
- Strategic Planner and proficient in making annual operating budget for the department
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with attention to details
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Strategic thinking combined with the ability to move strategy to action
- Problem solving skills
- Managerial / Leadership skills
- Self-motivated, creative and confident, with a highly energetic personality
- Creative, independent, and manages stress gracefully
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently

- Must be organized and ability to work and follow systems and procedures
- Must be adaptable to change of strategy, ideas, systems etc.
- Proficiency in organizational planning with the ability to multi-task

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor degree in mechanical or electrical engineer

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar size hotel or resort

Qatar experience is an advantage.

Strong track of project management and in preventive maintenance
- Experience in government processes.
- Fluency in Arabic, written & spoken is an added advantage
- Fluency in English and other languages, written and spoken, is preferred
