Event Director

Drive new business opportunities and develop commercial strategies in accordance with the business and client requirements. Responsible for the company’s third-party events from planning, execution to completion of the project. Work with wide range of clients, from individuals to corporations, non-profits, and large government entities. Ensure that each event runs smoothly from inception to conclusion all aspects of production—from venue selection to equipment rentals to staffing decisions. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and other service providers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Monitor competitor activity to identify new strategies for the event
- Monitor and manage venue relationships
- Establish and maintain relationships with partners
- Ensure the database is managed to maximize its effectiveness
- Promote best practice in sales
- Identifies potential customers
- Develops existing relationships
- Achieves direct Sales and Sponsorship targets
- Appoint and manage Agent network
- Develop the Exhibition brand
- Use internal resources to develop the event into new markets
- Maximize the business development opportunities
- Communicate business direction to team members through communication channels
- Establish monthly forecasting process to determine likely show result in budget tracker
- Achieve revenue and contribution to the budget/forecast
- Grow show margin in accordance with 5-year plan
- Monthly management reporting to a high standard and within deadlines
- Oversee the development of the marketing strategy and marketing objectives for the events
- Work with Marketing Manager to increase visitor numbers and quality and improve the look and feel of the event.
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant industry trade publications
- Ensure marketing branding is in line with company branding standards
- Identify potential 3rd party events, bid submissions and raising them with the management (Government & Private Sectors)
- Develop commercial strategy and deliver in accordance with the business requirements.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the events team to participate in Tenders, Bidding Proposals (Technical and Commercial)
- Coordinate commercial teams and collaborate with Events Team to resolve contractual and commercial issues of event projects which involves contract negotiation, project event planning, and risk management.
- To design and lead the delivery of a comprehensive events programmed to facilitate collaboration with prospective clients.
- Introduce new models and types of events (including large scale chargeable events) and experiment with innovative ways of achieving outcomes, testing effectiveness at delivering outcomes.
- Regularly review and monitor competitive publications/exhibitions and identify new leads to ensure that sales opportunities are maximized
- Conducting research and brainstorming key points to include in the bid.
- Crafting persuasive and detailed proposals.
- Performing risk assessments and addressing concerns of clients and company staff.
- Ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Keeping track of all costs and managing budgets.
- Working closely with project managers, operations managers, marketing manager, design team and other staff involved.
- Conducting team briefings once bids have been secured.
- Have a good understanding of the industry and establish relationships with current/new associations and organizations to maintain and gain support in relevant industries, some of which may be non-commercial
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years’ experience in the Exhibition, Conference & Event industry
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint &, etc.)
- Related industry awareness
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- With strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic (Bilingual)
- With outstanding organizational, leadership, and management skills
- Qatar Drivers License

**Salary**: QAR16,000.00 - QAR20,000.00 per month
