**Duties & Responsibilities**:
1. Teach courses in sedimentology, geochemistry, stratigraphy and structural geology and general geology and field of expertise as assigned by the Department Head.

2. Coordinate with Earth Sciences faculty with assessment activities of courses

3. Contribute to various committees at the program, college, and university level.

4. Contribute to the college research profile seeking research funding and research publications.

5. Contribute to developing new curricula and research areas

6. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department

7. Maintain professional growth through attendance at scheduled professional development sessions

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**:

- 1. Ph. D. in geology with specialty in geochemistry/ sedimentology from a recognized/ ranked University (top 300 worldwide).
- 2. Teaching experience in geochemistry/ sedimentology in both theory and laboratory for at least 5 years at university level (overseas experience is desirable).
- 3. Experience with classroom implementation of student-centered pedagogies including use of new technologies in teaching.
- 4. Strong peer reviewed publication record.
- 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English languages.
- 6. Ability to adapt to and participate in different cultures and learning environments
- 7. Ability to contribute to an innovative and challenging academic instructional program is an asset

**Competencies**:

- All QU faculty members must demonstrate effectiveness in the following categories: research; teaching; academic advising and program development; scholarly, professional and/or creative activities; and institutional development and/or community service.

- Years of experience after PhD.
- Major and specialization/concentration
- H-index, total number of citations, Google scholar link, ORCID number.
- Journal quartile in front of each publication.
- Number of publications and role in each of Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 journals in the last 5 years in a separate table.
- Number of publications and role in non-indexed journals.
- Number of published books and role.
- Number of published chapter of books and role.
- Number of Graduate Students supervised and the role.
- Awards and Grants (with role and budget amount).

3. Teaching, research and service philosophy.

5. Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed. However, if no course work was completed, a copy of certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree).
