Country Head of Human Resources, Qatar

The role purpose is to plan, manage and oversee the activities and operations of the HR Department. develop and direct implementation of plans to ensure the most effective utilization of human resources to support Bank Business Units in achieving strategic objectives.

**In this role, you will**:
**Global, Regional and Country HR Strategy Implementation**
- Implement Group and Regional HR Strategy in Qatar taking into account country specific priorities.
- Lead and drive the HR Strategy in-country supporting all lines of businesses/functions resulting is a stronger HR support and improved value creation.
- Be a proactive and trusted Business Partner across all businesses/functions.

**Employee Engagement & Diversity / Organization Development**
- Plan, develop, implement and manage strategies and programs in Qatar that support and align with the HSBC Group’s overall employee engagement, diversity and inclusion policy.
- Support the country organizational development including organizational design and cultural change initiatives.

**Talent and Resourcing**
- Work with Regional Resourcing and Business to source the best talent for Qatar, balancing local career development priorities and bringing expertise from outside HSBC Qatar.
- Implement Group Talent policy and support regional resourcing programmes facilitating international moves both in and out of the country.

**Nationalisation**
- Ensure that HSBC Qatar is compliant with the local regulators requirement of maintaining the minimum percentage of Qataris employed by the bank.
- Oversee the success of the graduate and student sponsorship programs.
- Increase visibility of the bank amongst key recruitment pipelines for local nationals into HSBC.

**Reward and Performance Management**
- Support the implementation of the Group Reward policies adapted for the local markets, ensuring that Employer of Choice, Best Place To Work and Pay for Performance intentions are met.
- Actively manage the Country CEO Scorecard and provide quarterly updates.

**HR Governance and Policies**
- Manage HR Risk and ensure compliance with local and regional risk and audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regional legislation in relation to hiring, selection and termination of employees. Lead or facilitate consequence management for the country
- Maintain updated country policies that are in line with Group and local legislation.

**Learning & Career Development**
- Deliver a country learning within regional guidelines and promote the transfer of knowledge. Ensure L&D strategy and knowledge content supports business requirements.
- Motivate and develop staff by effective recruitment, training, and career planning so as to improve the overall quality of the staff in the area.
Requirements

**To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with at least 6 to 8 years of HR experience.
- Previous HR Manager/ Relationship Management experience.
- Broad HR generalist experience gained across a variety of businesses, including cross-cultural expertise.
- Experience in implementing transformation and change programs.
- People management skills required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently under pressure within a team environment.
