**About the role**:
As Systems Engineer - BI & Data Analyst, you will be required as part of the Information Architecture, Analytics & AI team to:

- Unlock business value of data from systems, devices and sensors.
- Perform analysis to assess quality, meaning and value of data sets.
- Use statistical tools and techniques to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets
- Develop and test hypotheses to assist in operational process improvements or decision making
- Discover actionable insight from data and present findings to stakeholders
- Experiment with new technologies and concepts to deliver a real positive impact on the airport and its stakeholders.
- Play a contributor role in driving innovation and solving key business problems with advanced data analytics and AI.
- Enable HIA to continuously perform as a data driven organization

**Key accountabilities include**:
Operational
- Collaborate with business teams to understand airport business processes, data and challenges.
- Evaluate the meaning and quality of data.
- Gather raw data from systems and transform them into useable datasets.
- Clean and mine data to answer important business questions.
- Identify valuable data sources and analyze them to reveal trends, patterns and business insight.
- Create data visualizations and reports to measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist colleagues with creating data pipelines for processing of structured and unstructured data.
- Generate hypotheses and design experiments that deliver tangible business benefits.
- Perform analysis to generate insights for key business challenges or objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation to ensure adequate data lineage, governance and compliance with information, security and other relevant policies.
- Work with colleagues to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.

Solution Design & Delivery
- Facilitate gathering and documenting requirement and business objectives for analytics.
- Design, communicate and negotiate technical solutions and implementation plans with various stakeholders.
- Deliver committed projects and tasks using agile software delivery methodology.
- Assist the team to ensure regular compliance with change and other relevant processes of ISO 20000.
- Conduct root cause analysis of reported incidents in operational systems and ensure right changes to code, test and promote fixes following the established incident management process based on ITIL.
- Ensure that software is peer reviewed and unit tested to ensure that all functional and non-functional requirements are met.

Organization Data Culture & Literacy
- Develop awareness and training content for business users to enhance the data literacy.
- Assist business users to become self-sufficient in their reporting and analytics needs
- Drive the usage and adoption of the Business Intelligence Self Service platform.

Personal development
- Improve soft skills through MATAR trainings and seminars.
- Attend technical workshops delivered by line manager
- Complete online technical courses and certifications as per the direction of line manager.
- Keep abreast of market trends and technology developments in Data Science, Machine Learning and AI.

Qualifications

**About You**:
**Essential**:

- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent quantitative discipline.
- Minimum 4 years job-related experience.
- Sound knowledge of statistics, data profiling, data quality measurement and cleaning.
- Skilled at presenting, data storytelling and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong exploratory analysis skills with experience using Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI (preferred), Tableau, SSRS, and Qlikview.
- Proven track record of delivering meaningful insight to drive business decisions.
- Has good attention to detail and motivated to deliver exceptional quality.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks concurrently with strong written and verbal communication.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work within a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- The proven ability to be a team player with a collaborative orientation and the ability to effectively interact with, and influence, internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ability to query data using SQL.
- Adept at generating hypotheses, designing experiments and measuring performance.

**Preferred**
- Airport domain experience is preferred but not essential.
- Qualifications and certifications related to Statistics, Data Science or AI are preferred.
- Experience of working in an agile delivery environment (user stories, backlog grooming, sprints, etc.)
