**Responsibilities**
- Provides direction to the organizational patient safety strategy.
- With appropriate collaboration, designs, coordinates and directs the development of comprehensive Patient Safety and Risk Management Plans/Programs.
- Continuously evaluates and improves the Patient Safety and Risk Management Plans/Programs based on internal needs and external requirements and standards.
- Cultivates a safe environment by promoting safe practices, nurturing a just culture, and improve processes that detect, mitigate, or prevent harm:

- Assesses patient safety culture.
- Applies safety science principles and methods.
- Identifies and report patient safety risks and events.
- Collaborates to analyze patient safety risks and events.
- Conduct Risk Assessment:

- Risk Identification
- Risk Analysis
- Risk evaluation
- Conducts an annual assessment of patient risks and works closely with the leadership and Quality Team and develops annual institutional patient safety goals.
- Develops and implements an institutional patient safety measurement strategy.
- Ensures the development of surveillance systems to identify and mitigate potential patient harm.
- Supports/facilitates the implementation of innovation and systems that eliminate patient harm.
- Facilitates process improvement teams that directly support patient safety goals.
- Develops and implements initiatives to create an appropriate patient safety culture using transparency as the foundation of this effort.
- Supports and encourages submission of patient safety reporting reports from frontline staff.
- Working in collaboration with the Managers/Team leads, reviews, investigates, and analyzes patient safety events and patient complaints including both potential and actual patient injury. Recommends interventions of continuous improvement which will enhance the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and organization at large.
- Working in collaboration with the leadership and Quality Team, coordinates root cause analysis of patient safety events and assures implementation of resulting actions plans.
- Completes timely reliable reports and shares information with staff, including reports on a quarterly basis.
- Presents and communicates the trend report and data analysis to relevant departments and committees.
- Coordinates organizational response to regulatory standards related to patient safety including but not limited to the State of Qatar MOPH Standards.
- Monitors professional organizations for new or revised best practices related to patient safety.
- With the collaboration of Human Resources, designs, updates, and implements patient safety education modules for new employee orientation and continuing education.
- Maintains positive and effective working relationships within the department/division and with other departments/sections within the facility.
- Participates in the Patient Complaint and Grievance Committee and in other assigned committees/taskforces.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required

**Experience required**:

- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a hospital facility required, Quality/Risk experience, required.
- Basic understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of the hospital.

**Skills required**:

- High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff, and other customers.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking, flexibility, and creativity when resolving customer issues.
- Ability to organize and define problems, develop strategies, and carry out action plans.
- Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Advanced analytical skills to trend and analyze data.
- Recognizes and accepts accountability for safety and care of patients.
- Demonstrated patient centered / patient valued behaviors.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Good ability to effectively handle challenging situations and balance multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire to work in multi-disciplinary setting.
- Fluent English speaker. Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.

Pay: QAR5,000.00 - QAR10,000.00 per month
