**About the role**:
Manage Vehicle/GSE maintenance activities at Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), and provides leadership, direction and accountability to maintenance staff. Providing a safe, reliable and cost-effective fleet of equipment and vehicles at DIA/HIA. Also, responsible to oversee all maintenance activities and any other airside services as directed by QAS management.

**Operational**
- Ensure timely completion of preventative and corrective maintenance to all fleet vehicles and GSE occurring at the maintenance facility or within airside operations.
- Contributes to the identification and development of operational plans to improve workshop operational performance.
- Prioritize and coordinate maintenance actions in order to maintain acceptable serviceability levels of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and fleet vehicles and to achieve optimal preventative maintenance service levels.
- Ensure that all work or activities performed are accurately documented and provide accurate reporting, and updates to Management.
- Monitor maintenance trends while ensuring safety and security of the operations remain the highest priority.
- Champion identifying and understanding staff strengths, and provide opportunities to excel. By assigning jobs/issues instruction to subordinates based upon each staff’s skill level and experience while also allowing for development.
- Manage the state and progress of all maintenance activities occurring throughout the operation.
- Uses understanding of business principles to establish clear priorities for action and make decisions based on facts and analysis.
- Implement and monitor operational implementation based on the analysis and real-time challenges.
- Be informed on day to day costs and actively seek ways to assist senior management to manage and reduce costs by improving processes and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build valuable partnerships with customers to support GSE maintenance activities.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

**Qualifications**:
About you:
High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 7 years of job-related experience OR External & Internal: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience.

Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial)
- Knowledge of Airside / Ramp operational procedures.
- Knowledge of GSE equipment maintenance and operating procedures
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Must possess an effective strong, decisive and collaborative leadership style.
- Should demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, equality and respect.
- Strength in learning and development; mentoring and coaching skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members and optimize output.
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.

Preferred
- Experience in resource management, systems and planning.
- Advanced MS Office skills and functions (Excel, Word and Outlook, e.t.c)
