About the Job
The College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University is seeking an accomplished individual to fill the role of Assistant Professor of Design and Innovation. This esteemed position will involve teaching and developing core and elective courses within the Engineering Design Concentration, including Advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Design Optimization, Application of Artificial Intelligence in Engineering Design, and more. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising senior design projects, guiding student capstone teams through the ideation, prototyping, and testing phases, and contributing to curriculum development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and develop core and elective courses within the Engineering Design Concentration.
- Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on, project-based learning experiences.
- Supervise senior design projects and student capstone teams.
- Contribute to curriculum development, integrating modern design tools and aligning courses with industry needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with specialization in design, product development, CAD, or similar areas.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (FEA, CFD).
- Demonstrated ability to teach mechanical design, CAD, product development, and related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience at a recognized university.
