Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the scaffolding program on a major construction project in Qatar, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills to work effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Audit and monitor the EPC Contractor's scaffolding program, including training and assessment for compliance to NFE Project requirements. Address Working at Height issues and provide onshore PMT focal point for resolution of scaffolding problems/issues on site.
  2. Ensure inspection records and trained/qualified scaffolder's records are kept on file, review engineered scaffolding drawings, and monitor the skills development of Contractor/Sub-contractor scaffolding/rigging personnel.
  3. Assist in strategy development to capitalize on trends identified from SHE&S data and establish strong SHE&S networks across all contracting levels of the project.
  4. Maintain liaison with numerous internal and external groups, including Contractor, Sub-contractor, RLC, Rasgas, etc., and demonstrate a strong leadership commitment through the support of tangible Contractor safety practices that will be utilized during each phase of the project.
  5. Plan and implement field strategies to monitor the effectiveness of Onshore Project safety campaigns and hazard management programs through personal leadership and support the integration of BBS into the overall project SHE&S effort.
  6. Participate and/or lead incident investigations as required and provide guidance to Contractor with regards to deficiencies found in PTW's, JSA's, Method Statements, lifting plans, etc. during audits, reviews, inspections, walkthroughs, etc.
Candidate Specifications – Minimum RequirementsTechnical and Business Skills
  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with basic English proficiency.
  2. Ability to review and comment on technical documents and must be able to review scaffold structures with P.E. to work issues for safe scaffolding.
Behavioural Skills
  1. Good interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
  1. Associates degree in Engineering or Science.
Knowledge And/or Experience
  1. Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in project execution.
  2. Experience in major Construction Projects (including brown-field work) with total capital expenditure > USD$1B.
  3. Recent experience (last 5 years) on QatarEnergy LNG (Qatargas) Projects and working in Ras Laffan Industrial City.
