Job Overview

This role is responsible for leading the execution of XS, S and M projects & services within ABB's Energy Industries Division based in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leading the project team allocated to the project, defining main guidelines, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
  2. Planning project execution from start to finish, including all necessary resources, activities, documents, materials, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
  3. Periodically reviewing project plan and analyzing critical issues for correction.
  4. Ensuring that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies.
  5. Effectively monitoring and controlling project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitoring and controlling project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow.
  6. Identifying, qualifying, quantifying and managing project risks, and ensuring that all opportunities are identified and pursued.
  7. Capturing, analyzing and sharing lessons learned throughout the project.
  8. Ensuring that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with domain experience in ABB Automation, instrumentation and Electrification business for Oil and Gas.
  • Minimum 6 years experience in managing automation & instrumentation projects as project manager in ABB Oil & Gas stream.
  • Overall, 15 years minimum experience in automation / instrumentation field in Oil and Gas Domain.
  • Project Management certifications / ABB PM programme certification.
  • Knowledge of IT/ Digital H/W and S/W, Electrification, Automation solution as applicable to Oil and Gas.
