Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to design, analyze, and ensure the safety and functionality of structures such as buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. As a Structural Engineer, you will apply principles of physics and mathematics to create safe and efficient structural systems that can withstand various loads and stresses over their lifespan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed structural designs for bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
  • Produce design drawings, calculations reports, and specifications.
  • Supervise other engineers and CAD teams as per project tasks assigned.
  • Provide technical guidance to younger engineers.
  • Utilize standard engineering principles, techniques, and analyses to complete conventional, moderately complex assignments within the structure discipline.
  • Work with engineering software packages associated with the structures discipline.
  • Track the progress of assigned designs and report to senior and principal engineers on status and any issues that may arise.
  • Support other engineering activities as required by senior and principal engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering and 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
  • Possession of internationally recognized engineering licenses such as PE, SE, and CEng is highly preferred.
  • Must be MME registered.
  • Work experience must be related to hands-on design of structures.
  • Intimate knowledge of software such as Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards such as Ashghal IAN009 and British Standards.
  • Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports and hold articulate verbal communications.
