Project Assistant Hygiene Promotion and Distribution Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Assistant to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of hygiene promotion and distribution activities in a camp setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in planning and implementation of hygiene promotion and community participation activities.
- Conduct household visits, facilitate hygiene awareness sessions, and distribute hygiene promotion materials.
- Assist in coordinating water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities, including beneficiary preferences.
- Support day-to-day hygiene promotion activities in the field.
- Provide technical support and training for hygiene promoters and community volunteers.
- Distribute Information, Communication, and Education (IEC) materials to community hygiene promoters.
- Coordinate with stakeholders on hygiene and sanitation-related matters.
- Prepare regular progress reports on hygiene promotion activities.
- Participate in drafting, adapting, and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and visibility materials for hygiene activities.
- Contribute to producing distribution reports and monitor the recycling procedure.
- Identify and report any challenges related to NFI hygiene products.
- Assist in promoting a respectful working environment and preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH).
- Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental health, sociology, development, or humanitarian studies, or a related field, with three years of experience in WASH promotion, community/public health promotion, and participation in camp settings.
- Completed high school with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Professional experience in humanitarian hygiene promotion, public health promotion, shelter, and NFI programming, community engagement, and participation.
- Prior relevant professional experience in NFI distribution in a humanitarian context.
- Prior experience working in camps.
- Preferable prior experience working with a United Nations agency in an emergency context.
- Knowledge of working with migrants and refugees.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in MHPSS programming, resilience, psychosocial support, community-based activities development, and mobilization, especially in an emergency context.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare clear and concise formal correspondence and project reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural setting.
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
- Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in a Microsoft Office environment and office software packages.
- Data entry (database management) skills.
IOM's official languages are English, French, and Spanish. For this position, fluency in English, Pashtu, and Dari is required (oral and written).
