About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Safety Compliance and Assurance team at QAF Dukhan Airbase. As the Head of Safety Compliance and Assurance, you will be responsible for ensuring the establishment and maintenance of a robust system covering personnel safety, aircraft safety, and Continuing Airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive safety management system (SMS) that meets regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective governance and oversight of safety-related activities.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, such as the Qatari Military Aviation Authority (QMAA), to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  4. Provide leadership and guidance to the Safety Compliance and Assurance team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  5. Develop and implement procedures to ensure the management of exposures and associated risks.
  6. Engage with industry groups and regulatory bodies to stay up-to-date on proposed legislative, regulatory, and requirement changes.
Requirements
  1. Substantial experience in a maintenance and support environment, including significant direct experience of supporting regulatory activities.
  2. Recent extensive experience as a lead in regulation or a related discipline, such as maintenance tasking, reliability program management, or maintenance program development.
  3. Experience in establishing and maintaining a governance framework with competent personnel to discharge oversight and reporting of regulatory requirement compliance.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Credible experience in managing safety management systems (SMSs) and quality management systems (QMSs), with a deep understanding of regulatory processes and internal safety, governance, and compliance processes.
  2. Previous defense or military background would be advantageous in this role.
