About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of large-scale IT programs at Qatar Airways. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams and driving innovation to ensure that our systems drive value to the business and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of large IT programs, ensuring that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet business requirements.
  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to technical leads and software engineers, reviewing and contributing to technical architecture, functional and non-functional requirements, and high-level design documents.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external suppliers to design and implement robust solutions and interfaces between applications.
  • Ensure that all application non-functional requirements are met, and thorough testing is conducted to ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken.
  • Manage and drive continuous development of industry-specific accelerators, templates, best practices, and automation tools to improve delivery speed.
  • Document technical risks and issues, and actively work to avoid, mitigate, resolve risks, and technical debt.
  • Implement automation to improve monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement of production systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis of reported critical incidents in operational production systems and recommend effective preventive actions to avoid repetition.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 10+ years of professional experience in the IT industry, with 7+ years of experience implementing and managing Oracle ERP solutions at an enterprise level.
  • Hands-on experience in identifying technology opportunities and delivering them through modern software engineering lifecycle.
  • Strong experience in formulating technical solutions and leading delivery, working closely with product owners and delivery leads.
  • Ability to work closely with business, IT, and supplier subject matter experts to manage delivery of business solutions.
  • Expertise in solution designing, fitment analysis, and process mapping to system applications.
  • Comprehensive experience in providing support and conceptualization for technical solution delivery using technology-driven IT solutions.
  • Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps methodologies, and software development life cycle.
  • Domain expertise in airport domain is an added advantage.
  • Ability to recognize industry technology trends and emerging technologies, understand how they apply to different units in Qatar Airways.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
