About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Income Auditor to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Audit Daily Income: Verify that all daily income has been received by the hotel and ensure that all relevant revenues are correctly and completely recognized and recorded in the General Ledger accounting system.
  2. Reconcile Revenues: Responsible for ensuring all revenues generated in the hotel are recorded accurately and discrepancies reported on a timely basis.
  3. Produce Daily Revenue Report: Audit produces the daily revenue report and reconciles all revenues against cash banked and accounts receivable movements for each day.
  4. Verify Sales: Verify that sales from Rooms department, Food & Beverage department, and other operation departments are correct.
  5. Manage F&B Menu: Open/change F&B menu items in POS and maintain independent control of F&B menu from restaurants & bar.
  6. Verify Voucher Totals: Verify that voucher totals correspond with the Daily revenue report and the Food & Beverage revenue report.
  7. Manage Guest Ledger: Verify that guest ledger balance and total of all account detail balances for each room correspond to the system-generated guest ledger and General Ledger balance.
  8. File Sales Vouchers: Ensure that all sales voucher forms are used in sequence, with any lost and voided vouchers reported according to the procedure, and file them per section and in date order.
  9. Prepare Daily Revenue Report: Ensure the timely preparation and distribution of the daily revenue and statistics report.
  10. Post Transactions: Post all transactions in the Revenue journal and post into the Allowance journal any adjustments which may occur after those sales receipts are confirmed.
  11. Verify F&B Discounts: Verify that all F&B discounted checks are fully justified, properly recorded into the POS system and prepare subsequent report for hotel management.
  12. Comply with Internal Control Audit Checklist: Comply with all revenue related requirements under Internal Control Audit Checklist.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience in an accounting clerical, front office, or accounts receivable position or similar; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Language: Ability to speak fluent English required.
  • Physical Demands: Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds, standing up and moving about the front office or other designated areas, communicating with other people, handling objects, supplies, boxes of merchandise, etc.
  • Computer Skills: Performing computerized accounting tasks or generating invoices or correspondence using a computer.
  • Mathematical Skills: Mathematical skills are used frequently to perform calculations, reconcile account balances, etc.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is necessary to ensure the accuracy of financial and accounting transactions.
  • Availability: May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
