About the Role

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is a leading national applied University in Qatar, offering a range of applied degrees and programs in various fields. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance our local partnerships and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Partnership Development: Contribute to the formulation of our Partnerships and Engagements Directorate and help shape our university's strategy.
  2. Community Engagement: Develop and enhance the position of UDST in the local community, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  3. Operational Support: Provide counsel to the Director, Partnerships and Engagements, on local partnerships strategies and help translate operational feedback into strategic improvements.
  4. Partnership Management: Lead the development and implementation of local partnerships department plans, ensuring alignment with divisional and university strategy.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Regularly review existing strategies and provide recommendations to continuously improve services, ensuring the department's performance is optimized.
  6. Fundraising and Sponsorships: Identify opportunities to raise funds for UDST through corporate gifts and sponsorships, and develop strategies to implement these initiatives.
  7. Relationship Management: Establish and maintain transparent communication channels with donors, membership organizations, local Higher Education Institutions, and partners.
  8. Process Development: Develop and manage implementation of processes for partners' engagement, enhancing engagement and expanding the number and quality of local partners.
  9. Annual Planning: Formulate annual operational plans with targets, metrics, and KPIs, ensuring the department's goals are aligned with the university's objectives.
  10. Performance Evaluation: Monitor and assess the Local Partnerships work, evaluate departmental performance progress, and provide regular reports to the Director, Partnerships and Engagements.
  11. Program Management: Manage the implementation of local partnership programs, working in partnership with other business units to identify products and services that can be commercialized.
  12. Team Leadership: Lead and advise the local partnerships team on the identification, onboarding, and enablement of new partners, based on research, project needs, and missing competencies.
  13. Research Collaboration: Follow up on identified opportunities for research programs funded by government-sponsored grants and directly by industry, liaising with relevant business units.
  14. Event Planning: Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Directorate to organize and plan various fundraising events.
  15. Database Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive local partnership database, ensuring timely updates of partner details and collaboration metrics.
  16. Financial Planning: Support in the budget calculations and cost impact analysis for planned initiatives and partner events.
  17. Employee Development: Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates, ensuring continual high performance of employees in alignment with the university's mission and mandate.
Requirements

Education and Certifications: Master's degree in a relevant field is required, with professional certification preferred.

Experience: Minimum 8 years of similar experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a managerial position.

Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic language is required.
