Job Title: Product Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

The Position is responsible for identifying new food products based on market needs, sourcing reliable suppliers, and managing the end-to-end logistics of importing products into Qatar. This role also focuses on building brand presence in the market, including product registration, marketing strategies, and promotional execution in hypermarkets and e-commerce platforms.

This position requires strong market research skills, supplier negotiations, logistics expertise, and brand development experience to ensure successful product sourcing, importation, and market penetration. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Product Research & Market Analysis: Identify high-demand food products based on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive analysis.
  • Supplier Identification & Negotiation: Research and identify reliable international suppliers and manufacturers that meet quality standards, evaluate suppliers based on product quality, pricing, and regulatory compliance, and negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with vendors.
  • Procurement & Pricing Strategy: Work out landed cost calculations, including CIF pricing, customs duties, import taxes, and logistics expenses, ensure cost competitiveness while maintaining profitability and market feasibility, and optimize procurement processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Logistics & Import Management: Handle the entire import process from supplier coordination to shipment arrival at Qatar's port or airport, coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs agents to ensure smooth and timely shipments, and ensure all import documentation, certifications, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all imported products comply with Qatari food safety regulations, labeling laws, and shelf-life requirements, work closely with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and Customs Authorities for product approvals and clearances, and mitigate supply chain risks by developing alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Brand Development & Market Penetration: Register imported products with the relevant Qatari regulatory bodies and obtain necessary approvals for distribution, develop and execute marketing strategies to build the brand's presence in the market, work closely with hypermarkets and retailers to ensure effective shelf placement and in-store promotions, manage brand visibility, pricing strategy, and promotional campaigns to drive product awareness and sales, and partner with e-commerce platforms to expand online sales channels and optimize digital marketing efforts.
  • Supplier & Retail Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure long-term reliability, establish strong connections with hypermarkets, supermarkets, and e-commerce platforms to secure shelf space and online visibility, and monitor supplier and retailer performance to ensure compliance with agreements and market expectations.

Key Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field; minimum 3-5 years of experience in product sourcing, procurement, international trade, and brand development (preferably in the food industry); proven experience in import/export logistics, supplier negotiations, and marketing execution.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of global sourcing, international trade regulations, and food import compliance; experience with CIF pricing, customs duties, and freight logistics; excellent negotiation and communication skills for supplier and retail relationship management.
