About the Role

Brunel is currently seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee lifting operations on our projects in Qatar. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all lifting activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point on site for all lifting and scaffolding works, ensuring compliance with Company Safety, Health and regulations.
  • Liaise with contractors to verify and ensure all lifting activities are well planned, with risk factors considered and adequate lifting plans in place.
  • Provide technical support for the selection and qualification of lifting operations, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring processes and procedures meet standards and requirements.
  • Perform daily inspections using safety tools, checking actions tracking registers and advising the HSES Head on progress.
  • Review and recommend improvements to key scaffolding and lifting practices, procedures, and plans.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for lifting related issues, reviewing and approving non-routine lifting plans and scaffolding plans.
  • Participate in the inspection of lifting equipment and scaffolding materials, performing surveillance inspections and verifying condition, validity, and tags.
  • Verify records of pre-use checks on lifting equipment during day-to-day operations.
  • Participate in the review and approval of technical offers for new lifting and scaffolding equipment prior to endorsement.
  • Oversee the execution of lifting and scaffolding activities at site and participate in root cause failure analysis.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Construction Superintendent with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role, holding relevant certifications such as LEEA Level 3 or HNC/NVQ Level Rigging and Lifting.

Your Profile

  • 8 years overall experience in construction, with a focus on lifting operations.
  • Strong knowledge of lifting standards and international regulations, including LOLER, ILO, BS, and PUWER.
  • Experience working with multilingual teams in fabrication yards and offshore environments.
  • Familiarity with Tier-1 EPC Contractors and Client projects involving Topsides and Subsea Structures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with local personnel without translation.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in professional office applications.
