Lead Contract Administrator

A critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of contracts and projects.

About The Position:
  • Prepare bidder lists based on existing contract data, ensuring prequalification status for large-scale projects, and communicate effectively with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Compile Tender Documents for tenders issued directly by the Department, adhering to established procedures and standards, and ensure all documents are properly reviewed and approved.
  • Draft contract documents, interpret contractual obligations, and assist in contract administration to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and negotiate with contractors when necessary.
  • Review and report on contractual deviations in bids, participating in commercial bid evaluations to provide expert recommendations and guide decision-making.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop price schedules in line with contracting strategies to support business objectives, and maintain accurate records of project expenses.
  • Study and evaluate claims and change order requests, advising on measures to minimize disruption and ensure project continuity, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Establish and implement insurance administration within projects to mitigate risks and ensure compliance, and monitor project progress to identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Prepare Management Contracts Status Reports to provide visibility into project progress and performance, and use data to inform strategic decisions.
Frequently Asked Questions:

Regular contacts at own or next higher level in own department to coordinate work and answer queries, and frequent contact with Consultants and contractors to discuss project requirements and outcomes.

Working Conditions:

Work independently in accordance with established procedures, standards, and professional standards, and work accomplishments subject to periodic review, major issues referred to the Contracts Manager with recommendations for resolution.

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 Years of Experience, Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Membership of RICS at MRICS level or equivalent national institution recognized and accredited by RICS.

Senior-level experience in large building and civil infrastructure projects, ability to provide contract engineering services, and management of large-scale projects from inception to close out.
