Laundry Supervisor Job Description

As a Laundry Supervisor at IHG Hotels & Resorts, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laundry facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to support the Laundry Manager in maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facility Management: Ensure the laundry facility operates efficiently, with a focus on receiving, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging of laundry items.
  • Workforce Planning: Plan and organize workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to quality standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and control equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs, coordinating with technical staff as needed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished laundry items for cleanliness, stains, damages, or other issues, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory levels of laundry supplies, detergents, fabric softeners, and other consumables, implementing inventory control measures to minimize waste, loss, or theft.
  • Customer Service: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and effectively, collaborating with the customer service team to resolve any laundry-related issues.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing proper safety protocols in the laundry facility, and training staff on safe operating procedures, handling of chemicals, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including production reports, inventory records, and maintenance logs, preparing regular reports on productivity, quality, and other key performance indicators for management review.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of laundry staff, assigning duties and responsibilities, providing training and guidance, and fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience with Hotel Property Management System, Opera.
  • Proactive with a meticulous eye for detail, strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
  • Able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
