Sales Engineer Position

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales of engineering products and services, providing technical expertise to clients and supporting the sales team to achieve targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and providing engineering solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and prospects, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Identifying new sales opportunities by understanding market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings.
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals to clients.
  • Collaborating with other teams to ensure client requirements are met with the right product specifications and solutions.
  • Creating detailed technical quotes, including pricing and product specifications, to meet customer needs.
  • Conducting site visits to assess customer requirements and offer technical consultation.
  • Providing post-sales support, ensuring that product delivery and installation meet client expectations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer communications in the ERP system.
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets through effective prospecting, closing sales, and managing the sales pipeline.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest mechanical engineering technologies and industry trends to advise customers on the most suitable solutions.
  • Offering technical training or support to customers, helping them understand product functionality and application.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Proven experience in a sales engineering or technical sales role, ideally within the mechanical engineering industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, hose components, and product applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close sales effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills to identify customer needs and offer the best solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on relationship-building and client satisfaction.

Additional Information

The Sales Engineer may be required to travel to client sites and trade shows as needed.
