About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wildlife Management Specialist to join our team at Hamad International Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of the wildlife hazard management plan and objectives.

The key responsibilities of this role include patrolling the airside, monitoring wildlife activity, and reporting and recording all wildlife occurrences and incidents. Additionally, the Airfield Wildlife Control Officer will be responsible for implementing training programs on wildlife hazard management for airport safety staff and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations related to wildlife hazard management.

  • Patrol the airfield, monitor bird activity, and report and record all bird strikes and other wildlife occurrences.
  • Implement training programs on wildlife hazard management for airport safety staff.
  • Monitor population of insects and food sources or attractants for birds and wildlife.
  • Liaise with Air Traffic Control (ATC) on wildlife hazards and report the actual status of Bird Watch conditions.
  • Monitor population of birds and implement measures identified in the Wildlife Hazard Manual to decrease bird population.
  • Inform the Line Manager of any new or unusual bird presence or activity.
  • Provide wildlife awareness training for airside users.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Ornithology, Biology, Environmental Science or a related field with minimum 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Training certification courses on Aerodrome Safety Management, Wildlife Hazard, and other ICAO/ACI/Safety certification are an advantage.
